That's the Tour de France done and dusted - Pogacar running away with it already and they haven't even had a sniff of a mountain yet.
In a test match where England's 3rd highest scorer in their 2nd innings was "Extras" it looks like some superb bowling has put them on the brink of victory at lunch on the final day. India need 81 to win with only 2 wickets remaining. So good to have Archer back in the team.
Great win for England. Cricket writing the headlines that horse racing hasn’t been able to for years - 15 years ago we had Kauto Star v Denman, we had Big Bucks and Quevega, then came Frankel but the last 10 years have felt pretty underwhelming.
Super day at the cricket, even if i was 'watching' it on the BBC web site, and even that got me on the edge of my office chair...!! I do think that when the Indian team wake up this morning they will be wondering how they went from 41 for 1, 152 runs required with a batting line up like theirs and wonder how they came up short...!! But in all honesty the bowling performance put in by our lads was simply superb, and i think after watching the highlights last night fully deserved the win... Still a few things to sort out moving forward, our top three do have a few too many blips in their form, and we really can't rely on Stokes and Archer bowling a high majority of overs in a Test... All in all, great result, great match and it's not over yet in who wins this Anderson-Tendulker series...
I was having a similar chat with my mates on Sunday about this with the Sinner/Alcaraz final just about to finish, the tennis world only has these two who are going to battel out each and every Major, not like the four exception players we had recently. All sports need them to survive, and although we have had some good things happen in the equine world of racing, those you have mentioned provided so much drama it seems highly unlikely we will ever get to those great heights again...?? You never know, but don't hold your breath...!!
