Gerald Harper has passed at 94 Adam Adamant was probably how I will always remember him although the Fail focused on him having been Sarah Alexander's girlfriend....
Hadleigh too I believe, but a bit before my time, one of those 9 O'clock ITV shows that passed me by due to me being at school at the time! Just about the only show from that spot in that era that I have memory off is the Sweeney and I am sure that is because it was repeated far more often than shows like Hadleigh!
Adam Adamant , frozen in time and thawed out in the 1970s , he wore a cape and had a walking stick that contained a sword , I also remember his Capital Radio show that Mum listened to " The Sunday Affair " where he played love song requests and gave out Champagne and chocolates
I last saw him in my train carriage yonks ago.I was straining to remember series of that time but can't as I sit here!!!! I do wish you could watch 3 series I get late over here.....Emergency (suicidal fireman/medical men,) Adam 12 (2 cops in a police car on call) and Barney Miller (detective series with so much humor).
Favourite HB cartoon was Top Cat (boss cat ) and Favourite character was Jane Jetson or Betty Rubble ( hormones raging )
So many iconic cartoon characters. I’m surprised they’re not shown so much these days because they are timeless, even. Great theme times too. In the wonderland zoo… ….there a modern stoneage family…. Hong Kong Phooey, number one super guy… Scooby Dooby Doo, looking for you Some great characters- Snagglepuss (clue above), Barney, Dastardly & Mutley, TC, Thelma … the list in endless. And the ability to make them appealing to both children and adults is priceless. And they did the Banana Splits too
Ray Brooks , actor from The Knack ,,,,how to get it and Cathy come home , and best remembered as the voice of Mr Ben has passed to the great fancy dress shop in the sky
We visited my wife's family at Boonesboro on Sunday. We walked in and joined them watching a series of canal programmes starring Timothy West and his wife (BASIL!!!!).They told me he had just passed away and his lady was having some physical/mental problems.Such a shame. The programmes were brilliant!
