I’m just worried about the FFP issues. How can we spend 55m and then 85m in two players when we need a defender and a GK.
Okay. So you set aside £200m for a budget. you devide that by 5 and that equals £40m. you then pay £40m a year for next 5 years. In the mean time you keep banking £80m from CL.
That all assumes a clean slate which we don’t have. We moved out 75m of losses i think in the last cycle of June. I guess if we sell Longstaff and say Willock for 15m and 10m we may have the wiggle room.
plus Miggy (transfer fee received and amortisation knocked off) Wilson amortisation knocked off, Lewis amortisation knocked off, Hayden amortisation knocked off, and pure profit on Kelly. Plus their wages knocked off.
I'm thinking that if Ekitike comes then Gordon will get his move to Liverpool maybe in a part exchange deal with Harvey Elliott
Ornstein on SSN now still playing it all down. Saying we are definitely in negotiations, but currently nowhere near agreeing a deal with the club, nor personal terms with Ekitike. Seems fairly of the view it's more just a hopeful attempt than a dead cert "despite some other press reports".
I’m thinking that Gordon could be on the move also. At some point we will eventually make a big sale. But if he stays then that’s also good.
Our attempts to sign him have probably been leaked by the player's agent, to try and smoke out other interested clubs before deciding.
My theory is Newcastle are in fact going to sign him and they're letting Liverpool know. It's kinda like saying either piss off trying to buy Isak and buy Ekitike or we will.
