I don't understand this "classy" stuff. It's basic decency. They are Portuguese and went and did a decent thing. What is classy then and what is crass these days. (Not saying it the latter either bte)
I think what the poster was saying (and I agree with, or I wouldn't have posted it here) was that the Portuguese element of our greatest rivals took the time and effort to show their respects to a former teammate. But fair enough; you can cynically view every aspect of grief, be it public or private, as being rooted in self-interest. "Virtue-signalling", to use that hackneyed, snide, one-eyed view of expressing any emotion of support. Death does tend to bring out the namby-pamby side in some humans. We should be grateful that some in our society are above all that.
