Their bowlers looked a cut above. Strange that the Indian seam bowling attack, without their superstar bowler, would be head and shoulders above their English counterparts in England.
This set of England bowlers is ordinary for me, no X factor. They are all decent bowlers but too similar, the addition of Atkinson may help, and I do feel they may now rush Archer back too in the hope that he can make it through a 5 day test. Oh for a decent spinner too, Bashir is a spinner whose wickets mainly come from catches in the deep, we do so need a top class spin bowler who is good for more than just giving the quicks a rest.
England middle order collapse against ordinary off-spin. Some dreadful shots, particularly Stokes, after showing some unusual discipline. Pitch will throw up some chances, but you feel that India have this in the bag.
Good effort by Carse and Stokes. Lots of ****housery as well! Pity they could not enforce the next batsman out there for 2 balls!
Great test match. Memories of the Ashes a few years ago. Most will never understand, but there is nothing like a hard fought Test
You don’t need a sixfest for exciting cricket. Test format will always be the best. Sustained drama over two and a half sessions at a run rate of 2 per over
