    Did it a year ago(left a job,agency,I'd been there a year).

Big fat ****ing ignorant woman started as Warehouse manager and it wasn't long until we crossed swords, she'd started messing up my shifts, changing them at short notice, had it out with her and that made her worse.

Went to one of these big meetings one Weds lunchtime(had one every week, loads at it).She decided to announce that it was 'pride' day the following Tuesday and the canteen was the venue for raffles, free bottles(it was a bonded whisky operation),lunch, early finish....All invited except agency(this was a directive from her boss),we'd to do stock counts:emoticon-0102-bigsm

I blew my top, called her some choice names, threw my lanyard at her, walked out and I haven't worked since...

Good to get things off your chest at times but it can be costly!!!And you're right, jobs are hard to come by now, extremely hard to come by!!

A lot of companies have confidentiality clauses or non disclosure agreements nowadays.

    Breaching that is gross misconduct.

I think what's more likely to have happened here Jim is that someone from within the Club has told a friend, who's told a friend, who's told another friend and of course it's grown arms and legs as it gathered pace. It's then been brought to the attention of the local rag who revel in this type of thing..

    End result,we are where we are...In a ****ing pickle:emoticon-0148-yes:

I think its a bit more than that. There are people working at the club who know the score. They know when the club is being badly run or someone is taking the piss, especially financially or continually making bad decisions that effect the well being and running of the club. If the club goes under, they lose their jobs.
Good example is the myth of David Lloyd locking the gates to Boothferry Park. The club was still run by those employed by it during those dark days, although the staff couldn't get into the office they devised ways of doing so to ensure the day to day running of the club carried on. The gates were actually locked to prevent the Sheffield Steelers, who 'owned' the club, not the ground, from getting their hands on any more money. It worked too, but it only worked with the co-operation of the staff who worked there who knew the extent to which the club were being run into the ground financially.

I have also been looking carefully to see how many of them now spell Turkey in the English way again. Break up's are so difficult for those involved but great theatre for the neighbours.

If you’re a fan, then your office job is a hell of lot more interesting at Hull City than if you did the same thing for an insurance broker for £5K more.

Sometimes it’s not all about money, why be miserable 40 hours a week for a little more money when you can enjoy what you do and get by just fine?

I've heard of this 'sometimes it's not all about the money' concept. It's good in theory HCAFC but not often seen in practice...

I sort of get that but imagine being in the Finance Department at City and switchboard call you. "I have Acklams on the phone.... something about an unpaid debt, do you want to take it?". I think sometimes, a job is a job and you get the same good points and the same difficulties, whoever you work for.

I dont disagree, I have recently taken a huge hit so that I can just work a couple of hours in a morning most days and enjoy working on my house and seeing more of the kids for the rest of the day. Little office in the garden and if I need to I can do a couple more hours when they are in bed. Life is worth way more than messing about every day regardless of the money.

He was always just another owner, same as Adam Pearson, but because they bring a bit of positivity to things after dark times they get lauded as high & mighty heroes.
When Acun came in, it seemed like a breath of fresh air, but, as I’ve said numerous times, he always seemed a bit too much!
Looking back, it’s similar to how Mike Ashley was in the crowd at Newcastle & they loved it, until they didn’t.

You have probably thought of all possibilities but what about something totally different that gets you out, gives you the exercise, etc. I know a couple of guys who were in well paid jobs and they have now become postmen. Also others working in Tesco, doing medication deliveries for pharmacy's etc.

I went to Tesco during early part of lockdown as I was bored out of my mind. Worked nights in Goole. Loved it. No stress, driving around on a lollop all night filling cages on the back and then taking them to the truck loading part.

There are always jobs in those places, often via agencies at first. I only gave it up as I was asked to return to my actual job.
