I don’t know about you but I wouldnt pay Neil the same as Enzo and Diarra. Do you reckon Neil could get a 25million transfer ?
I don’t think the club are gonna sign extra midfielders for AFCON depth though. So if they are targeting this lad instead of depth for the midfielders already leaving to AFCON I can’t see it
Which is exactly what I’ve just said it’s absolutely mental. I trust the club to have a plan for those already going or if we sign say a striker going to AFCON but having half your midfield away would be silly
They’re in training at AoL at the minute there’s a flight to faro at 8:20 tonight and 6:35 tomorrow morning I can see so far
We have seen he hasn’t got the talent that Le Fee has, on that basis alone he’s not worth the same money as him. I think Dan will be a bit part player this season and assuming we stay up, we’ll sign better again and then he’ll probably be moved on.
I wonder how many actually go, I wonder if there are any who are happy to stay rather than go (i very much doubt it)
We’d have the bare bones of a midfield. ELF, Rigg and Neil. Plus Browne depending if he stays but he’s not a PL midfielder. One injury away from struggling to put a midfield together!
I agree but it really depends on the profile of player the club want, we aren't going to not pick our favourite option due to their country. But like I say they won't all go far and be gone for 6 games
Is it just me who sees Mayenda as a viable RW for us? He is so good when he has someone ahead of him and gets to run at defenders
I'm not saying Neil should or shouldn't get the wages Enzo or Diarra is getting, hard for us to determine how much the staff rate what he contributes to the club But if am Neils agent thats what im aiming for, the captain of the team started every game available - Like I say I dont think he will get it the lads who come through the academy at any club they dont get the same fair whack as others but thats every club even Carragher and Neville metnioned it a couple of times on the overlap
You’d expect Senegal, Morocco and Ivory Coast to all go deep into the competition as 3 of the leading countries. So that’s Diarra, Adingra and Talbi missing a substantial period plus this lad from Leicester if we got him in. Congo will probably get out of their group as well as they’re in a poor group. The only one that will likely come back at the earliest point after the group games is Reinildo! Don’t fancy our chances against City with Neil, Le Fee and Rigg in midfield and all having to complete 90 mins as we have no cover! Or more importantly being in that situation against a winnable opponent - Leeds! Where they come from has to come into the thinking if it’s going to hamper our chances of picking up points for up to a month of the season!
At this stage I honestly think the club will be putting some stock into it. Even if it's only 3 - 4 games, that's still huge for our season. As of right now, our midfield 3 during AFCON will be significantly worse than what we had in the Championship... and it got overrun at times there. If we don't sign another non-AFCON midfielder we may as well not show up for those games, imo.
I'd agree but we now have another solid link that we have approached this El Khannouss so I don't know
This boy is up there to make an impact this season... you could see it in his play against (I know) Shields.. bags of skill ,quick and strong.
Always a tough one to know how much he should be on - the club will have their amount and Neil will have his. Whenever players come in for big fees they'll always likely to be on more than academy players. I think the fact Diarra is a regular international and Enzo has played for France will also increase their value wage wise I've said a few times I want Neil to sign a new deal but it has to be right for the club, we can't be overpaying players as that's a slippy slop - that we've been on before. I'm hoping they'll meet somewhere in the middle, and he stays but if he not we need to sell asap and replace him asap
