I think as @CR17 says we may be “pivoting” (pun fully intended) to a double pivot next season rather than a single one. Get us a bit more protection in front of back 4. essentially would mean our “8s” move backwards slightly and we have more of a “10” behind the striker
Hmm I feel like El khannous is the first number 10 we've been linked to, other 3 I can think of all pretty deep.
Clearly the club intend to have 40 points by Christmas and just aim for the Conference spots after we drop points during Afcon so we can bed in academy and younger talents during the 26/27 season. Smart really.
Just looked Sacha reported El Khannouss has a £22m release clause in May so that would be the fee you'd assume.
That’s how it seemed against Shields and I think le fee is so much better in a two. Basically what Neil and Ekwah did for us but more fluid
Is El Khannouss any good? Cant say I watched much of Leicester and frankly I don’t want any more AFCON players unless they’re proper needle movers
I have watched little of the premier league in the past 8 seasons, but it does worry me that they aren’t great in the air. In fact, Neil (whose aerial stats are more impressive than he’s given credit) is the best in the air out of the lot of them. ball at their feet tho, what a bunch of footballers you’ve listed.
Yeah it does feel a lot like we are just gonna have massive CBs and a keeper to claim crosses and then try to outplay everyone. I personally don't like the idea of ELF - Diarra and a 10 and think it was just to be more attacking vs a very very poor opponent in shields. I think it would be odd for Le bris to specifically say Sadiki can play as a lone 6 if we weren't going to use one ever, so imo we will switch between a 433 with a 6 and a 4231 using a 10.
