Can't see it happening myself but if Frankfurt are willing to meet in the middle on price, and we get some other rumoured lads in, then this would be an awesome lineup for Villa: Trafford Tino---Scalvini---Botman---Hall Bruno---Tonali Elanga---Ekitike---Gordon Isak
Yeah, hoping we get the following 1. Trafford 2. Scalvini or if not Guehi 3. Etikite or if not Adeyimi That would make this the best window in living memory. Possibly as far back as window in which we got Ginola amongst others. Not expecting it but isn't it great to be able to dream it as a not completely out of the realms possibility.
All about opinions, but for me Gordon loses his place eventually if we did sign Ekitike. Gordons numbers overall are simply not good enough. The midfield is one of our best assets and that 3 of Joelinton Tonali and Bruno would take some breaking up. It's arguably the best midfield in the league. One thing we both know is that even if we signed Ekitike he won't get in the team for quite a while though, so Gordon, Barnes and Murphy would have the opportunity to hold a place. I don't even think any new signings will play vs Villa.
I hope that Gordon gets back to what we saw in his 1st season. Those numbers were good. We need more threat against low blocks where big Joe doesn't offer as much. So swap his destructive nature for more attacking guile as required.
Not many sides play a low block these days. I think Everton might even move away from that crap next season. I don't think there's many sides that are particularly great at dealing with non football, but I agree we do struggle with it. If a strike force of Ekitike Isak Elanga and a midfield of Tonali guimareas and Joelinton can't do well then that's a good low block.
There was some activity between Nottingham and Newcastle earlier on mind and this recently. It's only been in Newcastle for 1hr.15 mins
