*Acun is losing 500,000 quid a week. It's his club unfortunately, as much as people don't like it.

Not really - it completely depends on what happens to the debt in the future. If the club is given away for a nominal fee - but the debts stay then the club has lost the money. If Acun wipes it in the future - Acun has lost the money.

As it stands, the club is losing money - which ultimately Acun will be responsible for. But if he gets into difficulty, so does the club.

Maybe they can’t get another job that pays the same wage?
Very few people can turn down a wage just because they don’t like the owner.
You’d never get your Amazon deliveries delivered if everyone worked for someone they liked and respected!
They’re taking a wage which is presumably determined to be correct for the role they’re doing. That’s the contract.
The contract may, or may not, have something in it about not badmouthing the club.
If anyone who is working for anyone feels things are awry in the company, but despite feeling they can’t simply walk away decides to share that with the risk they’ll get finished if found out then fair ****s to them.
If any company wants to guarantee workers don’t whistle blow then the only effective way is to act in a way that there’s nothing to whistleblow about.

    * I’ve forgotten, or never read, what this was about tbh but in general terms this is what I believe

No, no, no, Dennis. You’ve got it all wrong. Every Amazon worker has to think the sun shines out of Jeff Bezos’ arse because he puts a roof over their heads.

I'd expect they have signed non disclaimers which is pretty common in Sport.

I'd also assume that give the poor wages City pay they could easily find another job. Working in Tesco Warehouse at goole on night shifts pays the same as the 22k commercial position they advertised a couple of years ago. Perhaps the poor wages is why they have ended up with staff who want to shaft the ownership instead of professional football people who would simply contact other clubs and move jobs.

Either way I just think it's a low life trick to be taking a guys money in one hand and using the other to bring him down. Regardless of who that guy is.

Just out of curiosity, what if Acun bankrupts, before finding a buyer? What happens in that scenario, any example? Will club be under administration?

Is it worse than RL players betting on games? Hard to know what altitude the moral high ground is.

The person who takes control of his assets would chase us for the money. I dont think he would go bankrupt given his media assets but you never know the extent of somebody's loans.

Seen it all before. Locked out of Boothferry Park etc without a pot to piss in.
All I want is to go to a match, enjoy the build up and come away feeling entertained. A high division is decent but some of the more enjoyable times were when City moved to the KC and were in the bottom tier.

What's your opinion on the 'Whistle Blowing' policy in a lot of workplaces nowadays Jim? Covers a multitude of sins I know but essentially you can complain or flag up issues with fellow employees, management,or even owner?

Taking a concern to your manager is fine. Its good practice. Leaking private and confidential information to a journalist is a sackable offence and disloyal to your company, in this case a club the staff apparently love.
