I enjoy the pre season games. Get to watch the lads without the result mattering. Interested to see what we've been working on and if we change shape. Big chance for individuals to stake a claim.

Results really don't matter. We won't remember these games by the time West Ham comes around.

A blend of Under-18, Under-21, and First Team players will take on Gateshead at the Hebburn Sports & Social Ground as the Lads begin preparations for the 2025-26 season.

Ian Poveda and Nazariy Rusyn will start the first half alongside Jack Whittaker and Jaydon Jones, both of whom recently signed their first professional contracts with the club.

The second half will see returns for Matty Young, Jay Matete, Abdoullah Ba, and Luís Hemir.

Under-18 scholar James Barker and Matty Burns — a recent arrival from Coleraine — will be available as floating substitutes across both halves.
