Norwich, Partridge, pluck and dress, too easy. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
When there's only two of you a decent chicken really isn't that expensive; I pay between 10 & 12 quid for a free range, corn-fed bird - we get a Sunday meal from it, a chicken curry, chicken & chips, couple of good sarnies with left over stuffing balls added; an added bonus of being a good bird is you can simmer the carcass for 4 hrs with whatever veg you have to make the tastiest chicken stock you ever had. Three good meals, plate of sarnies and a litre of chicken stock for £12 max.
'Three good meals, plate of sarnies', are you anorexic? The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Far from it Wrighty, I don't overload on meat we both like a lot of veg so 3 meals for us is easy - one chicken breast makes a curry, the other one with chips and beans, legs, wings, the oysters with the other pickings is plenty for Sundat dinner and sarnies.
we used to think bev road was crap in the late 70's early 80's and used to just stay in gardeners. haworth was for old men/students (jazzz) and didnt have any music? mainbrace only got a look in while you were waiting for a bus. then it was a long walk to the next pub. cant remember the order but bull rose and station were the only options then another long walk to zoo where you felt like youd had enough to drink due to its lean. was there a pub called the swan? like an old picture house? never went in. there was a pub near welly duke of wellington? but that was off a side street and full of locals. we lived half a mile away and werent local enough. got to have been more pubs but my memory now is terrible. but even back then some sessions, the next day i couldnt even remember walking into the first pub. oh how i miss those roche 10/bitter nights.
in the childrens home i lived in during the 60's the stock or soup as they called it used to last us 3 days. was always too runny for me but mashing bread into it fixed that.
I was really surprised when you said you'd went to Welly Club in the 60s. It was a buzzing place for me in the 90s for its Indie scene. Then just looked it up and it opened as a music venue in 1910! Mental to think of the generations of Hull folk getting pissed/high in there to different music genres! Also someone mentioned Reyners. It's called that now but I think it only used to be a nickname back in the day. (Well before my time).
We had some brilliant end of nights in Welly, i'm surprised it's still going. I think Rayners has been called it for a while but as you say, it could've of been the nickname i'm getting mixed up with.
The collective noun for ladybirds is a loveliness, there's plenty of the bleeders around at the minute. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
