That's brilliant. It sounds like he could have joined Saints but was waiting for a better offer than never came He clearly rates himself higher than any of the Bundesliga clubs he was holding out for.
The way some of their you tube channels are talking, you’d think they’d just got Klopp as their manager. I’m sure a week or 2 ago, this choice would not even had been mentioned as a possibility. Also been reported that they have to sell before buying, and again their youngsters are being talked like prime Barcelona academy.
About that. https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foo...-wednesday-danny-rohl-henrik-pedersen-5218286 Now there’s been another twist to the tale, with this publication understanding that a meeting has taken place between the players and staff at their preseason camp at St. George’s Park, with the general consensus being that they would prefer it if Röhl did not return. It’s felt like too much has happened since the end of the season, including the German’s absence from preseason, for him to walk back in. Multiple sources have suggested that a return for Röhl would not be welcomed by a substantial portion of those who remain, an issue that would throw up more question marks around the future of a football club that is currently surrounded by chaos. Ooopsie.
He has come out of this looking like a massive twat. In fairness, even when it looked like he might be coming here, and fair few commented that he was coming across poorly by outlining his intention to leave whilst the season was still ongoing.
This is a somewhat coincidental question because I was wondering just how many teeth the Wrexham fans would have in total amongst themselves.
In prep for the first game, I just watched the latest Welcome To Wrexham series. Was quite good actually. Lots of moments that make you remember how bad and how wonderful football is. Right at the end, when they got promoted (lol sorry for the spoiler), it was so touching - a young boy recovering (hopefully) from cancer was in the directors box with his mum and everybody was jumping up and down and hugging each other. After all he has been through though, he said to Rob McElhenney "Thank you for all you have done for Wrexham and thank you for this" in tears. Rob was practically speechless. Priceless to see his tears of real joy after a terrible few months.
I totally agree with these sentiments. It is brilliant that things like football or music can do so much for people's spirits and mean so much. For me, this is human nature at it's finest. It would be difficult not to be moved to tears in these circumstances.
I think the Welcome to Wrexham doc is really well done, and I like the way they’ve made it a bit different by focusing on a variety of fans and their personal lives. I like Wrexham, but then the arrogance of some of their fans starts to make them unlikeable at times. Although I suppose the same is true of any fanbase.
