Couple of journos saying we're exploring a deal for Yoane Wissa. Interesting move. He's very versatile and a real handful for defenders. More of a 'finisher' than a player who gets moves going, as far as I've seen, which is something of a concern. And he'll be 29 in September so this'll probably be his last big contract.
50/50 this is the old letting clubs know there are other targets, especially as Kudus' release clause expires in the next couple of days Sounds like a Paratici thing to do
Ornstein is claiming that Kudus is done for about £55m and his medical's tomorrow. 6 year contract and all agreed with the player.
Ornstein saying Kudus is done. Medical tomorrow. Apparently it’s ’a deal worth £55m’ so I assume some of that is add ons.
I wonder what our next priorities will be then. Rumours are that we’re shopping Bissouma around, and I imagine we’re potentially doing the same for Richy. I hope we sell Solomon too, we have plenty of depth in attacking positions. Assuming those three leave then we probably need a backup striker (potentially someone we take a bit more of a punt on?) and a proper defensive midfielder, preferable one who is comfortable as a lone 6 or in a pivot. Frank mainly plays a pivot and an advanced midfielder but the flexibility is important. Then it’s all about a LB for me. That’s the glaring hole in the squad. Spence looked decent at times in the more inverted LB role but Frank’s fullbacks or wingbacks need to provide width on the outside and Spence will look out of sorts on his wrong side doing that. There’s been chat about Dennis Cirkin coming back but it’s a risk when we have CL football. Might need someone with more top end experience to compete with Destiny. There’s a few players who I’m trying to work out, still. Where does Kulu fit into the squad? Presumably only RW now. Maybe in a front 2 alongside a more traditional striker? We probably need a backup 10 as well, and James McAtee’s name is getting thrown around.
An Ornstein EXCL is actually better than a Romano Here We Go nowadays. The HWG’s lost their impact after Romano would tweet 27 times prior about the deal.
Romano threw out a couple after Ornstein, the ****ing tap-in merchant. Credited him for the first one, then followed up with "he only wanted to talk to Spurs". Yeah, of course he did. Would've ****ed off Real Madrid, if they'd asked.
Tbh £60m on Richarlison was significantly more 'gone' than either of those, being as it is that both Elanga and Kudus appear to be professional footballers, as opposed to someone who won a raffle. We've probably been more guilty than most over the years for inflating market prices for bang average players.
I saw a rumour that we are considering Vlahovic from Juventus, Bissouma could grease the wheels by going the other way , this would have been nice a couple of yrs ago, no sure how fit he is now, what we don't need is another Werner
They may well go on to be very good signings but the Premier League tax on players is crazy. £60million seems to be the new £20million
Juventus are considering paying off Vlahovic's contract, apparently. He's on crazy wages, only has a year left and won't renew without a substantial increase. £320k pw. Not sure if that's gross or net, either.
It is and especially when buying from rivals. Which is why the model of searching for the next Bergvall/Udogie/Sarr/Vuskovic etc. is eminently more sensible than trying to behave like City and Chelsea.
I get why they’re signing Kudus, he’s got experience and has potential whilst not being a complete novice. Spurs can’t sign the top top players so have to aim for the level below. It’s just wild money and personally I’d rate see the club spend a bit more and get Eze.
