Looking like Petrovic could be on his way to Bournemouth, so Sunderland will be looking elsewhere for a keeper. Surely they remember Meslier with fondness after gifting them a point last season, they should put an offer in.
EXCLUSIVE: Sunderland have agreed a fee with Brighton for Simon Adingra. #SAFC will pay Brighton £18m + £2.5m in add-ons for the winger. ️ The 23-year-old has flown in to the North East by private jet and is undergoing a medical. Personal terms are also agreed. … pic.twitter.com/NzYj12DB7P — Keith Downie (@SkySports_Keith) July 9, 2025 They're gonna be ****ed when AFCON, comes around. Know nothing about him but comments suggest he's a better player than his stats suggest
Kin ell, if all mackems signings come off that's one relegation spot gone was hoping they'd be certs for one
Where are they getting all this money from? How long were they in the championship because losses allowed when in league one are much tighter? Technically, we should still have parachute payment money?
We barely spent a penny in the championship. Our PSR is two years championship and one prem this year giving allowed losses of 61 million we can roughly net spend up to 200 million before PSR is an issue after calculations are done on tv revenue etc. we’ve spent maybe 60 net spend so far? Cant remember off the top of my head. Got more sales to make too
Well their last 3 years audited accounts (2022,2023 & 2024) show that they have total losses of £27 million, so without any increase in income they would be able to spend £34 million. So with just the central football fund worth approx £100m, they can easily spend £134million if they so wish, without troubling PSR, not taking into account potential increase in gate receipts, commercial funding and retail sales. Whilst we don't have last seasons accounts, they made a net profit on transfers, and so far they have a net spend of approx £50m for this season forthcoming Conversely our last years audited accounts (2022,2023,2024) show total losses of £129 million. Obviously we had our fire sale last season ( for which accounts wont be available until March 2026), which has probably wiped out the majority of those losses, which of course aren't all PSR related. Despite receiving over £60m as a parachute payment in 2023/24 season, we still managed to lose £66m.
We never spent any money getting promoted to the premier league. We’ve sold Bellingham, Clarke, Watson, Stewart. We left ourselves plenty of room so we could give it a proper go once we got there and we are reaping the rewards now.
When all is said and done, it’s going to be an interesting season and I can’t wait. I would say that I’d like all the promoted teams to stay up but Parker just looks to smug so hope they go
