    Very sad indeed <rose>

He was apparently travelling in a Lamborghini, which blew a tyre whilst overtaking.
Because of the car you can't help but wonder whether excessive speed was involved.

Very sad indeed, with 3 kids, a blow out at any speed is a disaster, I have had 2 on motorways rear near njust after joining m4 from m32 and more seriously a front near coming down hill to J15 at Swindon at the time in a fully loaded 7,5 ton lorry doing around 60 mph. I was very lucky managed to slow with stabbing brakes and hard right hand steer..... ANY FASTER AND COULD HAVE BEEN OFF EDGE as in parts no barrier just a drop...........

the horror of it and catching fire is dreadful............. R.I.P <rose> ............ R.I. P<rose>

It would seem you could be right Angelic. Sadly.

When my kids were young, tragically 6 people they went to school/college with died in 2 separate accidents. 5 were travelling in a car on the A417 when it left the road and crashed, killing them - and one fell asleep on the M4 and rammed into the back of a lorry parked on the hard shoulder, decapitating himself.
None of these kids had reached 20 years of age.
As soon as they passed their tests I told my kids to remember those friends of theirs and make bloody sure it isn’t you.
I know myself that about a year after getting your license you feel bulletproof. Youth is its own worst enemy where cars are concerned.

Christ, that's too awful for words

It's sounds horrible jumping to conclusions, but high performance cars are often driven fast, which is what they are designed to do. And with such huge tyres on a Lamborghini, the effect of a blowout is going to be potentially a lot worse than on cars that most of us drive.

Those cars are also very light - which means that if something happens (like a blowout or clipping something) they will fly like a paper aeroplane.
