Gareth Hall played left-back for Sunderland after joining them from Chelsea in February 1996 for £300,000. He had previously filled in at left-back for Chelsea, notably against Bolton in November 1995, but his appearances were limited and he moved to Sunderland shortly after.

He was mostly a right back regardless. He may have played left back a few times just as Bardsley did but he was a right back. We can certainly agree he was ****e though.

I’ve just done exactly that! He was getting shown around on the pitch during the ceremony. They were filming it so I’d expect there’ll be some social media content out soon.

 

He was definitely played right back mate. He took over from Dariusz in that game vs derby.
