I doubt West Ham sell before the release clause expires. They want to pump the price up before then hence trying to bring other clubs into the equation.
I hope I am very, very wrong, but I have a horrible feeling Levy is looking at the squad and thinking: "These massively underperformed last season, I'd like to see how they do under a manager with a reputation for creating a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts." And the reality is, he's not far wrong. Ange made such a mess of it that we have no idea how good it bad this team actually is. That said, real ambition would mean replacing Richarlison, upgrading Solanke, upgrading Bissouma, adding depth at LB (or RB if Spence settles as a LB) and spending huge money on a long term Son successor. It's a lot to do and so far all we've done is annoy West Ham.
Worth mentioning the source for that claim was talkBALLS' accurately-monikered Alex Crook Still, it would be hilarious if we won the double next season and the Spanners were left with nothing
Alasdair Gold says we're offering Josh Keeley a new contract, while clubs are forming a queue to take him on loan
We've signed Danso (obligation), Tel (who many wanted if the price was lowered) for £35m (almost £25m lower than we were told he'd cost) and Takai. If people are right that our injuries were caused by Ange's training methods and style of play these signings are a good start in deepening the squad depth. It's only 7th July and we changed managers and back room staff 5 weeks ago. We need further signings but I think people are being a little impatient. Most of last season people spoke about Ange not having the tactics to get the best out of the squad and if that is true the we need to strengthen not overhaul the squad
