I'm a bit puzzled regarding some thoughts on Talbi. I've noticed there's a belief that he'll be coming in as 'one for the future' ... ... I think he's already playing at a level whereby he can start games, especially at home, just my opinion.
He will be starting or coming off the bench, no way a one for the future imo I think it's likely we see Lauriente - NEW ST - Talbi
I think you can both be capable of starting and he one for the future, he could act as the main man on the right but I think we will bring in someone else so he doesn't necessarily have to (such as a top level loan). Then when the loan player leaves after this season Talbi will have grown as a player, adjusted to the country and be more capable of taking up the role of main right winger
I really like Talbi and I quite like Lauriente, I just really don't like Roberts. Feel like with Talbi and Lauriente signing it means Roberts will feature a lot more than I'd want him to, especially during AFCON.
Talbi travelling to england today for a medical https://sportwitness.co.uk/player-t...edical-after-black-cats-reach-full-agreement/
I’m properly procrastinating with work today and without a flurry of activity I just went back and watched the highlights of the PO semi and final for the 8,976th time. for all the talk of new signings, I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to watching Trai Hume play football every week again. What a player.
If that's the case and we managed to win the Carabao Cup, is it still a major trophy or does it go back to being the mickey mouse cup?
I sort of agree but, on the other hand, are we sure Talbi is better on the left? If he's come in to be primarily a right winger then I think it's fine? Will leave us a bit short over AFCON but Mayenda can play on the right as well, let's not forget. And, at a push, Rigg, although results were definitely varied with that experiment last year.
Yes that makes sense and I hope, as I've previously said, we bring in two big loans with PL experience. The big clubs have big squads and I think we'll be in prime position for season long loans. After the season we'll have produced a player, who's now at their peak, and a 'reserve' who's now able to play most games. I just don't think Talbi, Diarra or the others will be out of the first team squad for the entire season except for injuries and suspensions. I think our loans will be critical this season and players will be looking at Sunderland as the place to go ... ... I really don't see the likes of Leeds or Burnley attracting better loans.
