I’m a bit confused/intrigued by the squad building with our Lauriente interest seemingly still being alive even after Talbi. I appreciate Talbi can cover both wings but that would still be 3 of our 4 wingers being predominantly right footed. Do people still expect us to go for a fifth winger?
I agree ideally we’d want 2 of each footed but the way I see it is we have two left wingers and two right wingers. I don’t think we need any more
Talbi will cover both sides as he is comfortable with it, Lauriente will compete with Mundle, maybe we go for a left-footed winger too or leave that open so Talbi can get a good amount of minutes at RW with Roberts?
In reagrds to Mikautadze, they need to sell by the 10th, this could move quick if we are as close as people say
But all the talk seems to be that although Talbi can and does/has play on the right, that he’s likely been signed to mainly compete on the left. If he’s been signed as a right winger then I’ve no issue.
I think he's been signed to cover both, I do think he looks better on the left but he's played most of his football on the right, he seems quite two footed. According to Sacha on that podcast I'm sure he said that KLD said to Talbi he wouldn't be the "ultimate" player and would be signing more in that position unless i've dreamt that
Only people on here saying he would has looked better on the left, depends if we want him to be inverted or not might just want the natural width
I do think often a winger on his natural side (ie not inverted) is more conducive to counter attacking football. I’ve maybe just got drawn in by the talk on here of Talbi being for the left. If he’s been signed as a right winger it seems much more balanced.
no but we dont want to go in to Dec/Jan with a delpleted squad, with Lauriente he is a striker as well so covers 2 roles,as are most of who we are after can play well in more that one role.
