Yes. But we may not get the player we want. No club gets everything they want. If we don't, or can't, then Johnstone would be a reasonable signing.
Wouldn't be surprised if wolves signed another keeper tbf, could definitely push Johnstone to want to leave
There’s also probably multiple options out there better than Johnstone we could go for first. That said it’s not even a link it’s literally Nixon saying because of a goalkeeping coach we might move for him. Zero link or credibility to us moving for him at all
Btw on Talbi I defo think he’s gonna be competing with Mundle not Roberts. Looks so much more comfortable off of the left.
Tbf I still think he's just competing with both but he's definitely played a significant amount more on the right - but I said yesterday I probably want 2 more wingers with Talbi covering both.
Yeah i'm taking Talbi. The possible upside is so high with him. The ability to play both sides really helps but I was particularly struck by his defensive work, think that's rare in wingers his age with his ability going forward. Talbi + a left footed winger and we're set in them positions.
Not that odd, as soon as Cutler was mentioned several links to Johnstone were published. It’s probably a lazy link but one that’s feasible.
I'm going for an update on 2 targets probably petrovic and Cresswell and a one new link from out of nowhere
I’d be absolutely amazed if the keeper coach doesn’t have some input into the signing of keepers. Not final say but certainly input.
I’d be very disappointed if we use a loan slot for back up. Both absolutely should be for players of a calibre we can’t yet sign permanently.
Was a bit of an odd interview (good listen, just confused what I took away from it). He was warning caution and was a bit negative about various things with Talbi but when he then went into detail about it I thought it sounded really positive.
