Loads to talk about after today's game but that can wait until tomorrow, my only question is..

Why when we can score spectacular goals but not poachers goals is it fine to play an 18 year old with 2 days light training but not to play a 20 year old natural goalscorer?

Bruce would not and now O'Neil wont, what am I missing?

If it was OK to ask Bruce the question then it must be OK to ask MON.

Fair point Syd was screaming for Noble to be played.

It was clearly a tactic early on to lump balls up-to Wickham for him to win flick-ons. This didn't happen very often as the Blackburn defenders won pretty much everything in the air. Noble will get his chance, imo he's looks a little lightweight still, just savour the 3 points today and be happy!

Of course it is ok to ask mate, no one is above reproach.
Imo I think he was seeing a lot of positives happening on the pitch, but not much actual luck.
I thought he would have brought on Noble a tad earlier than the subs that actually came on.
Pretty sure Noble would have buried Ricco's chances.
    McClean was a revelation though.

I've heard Noble's a bit of an arse off the pitch. Throws his toys out of the pram etc. Just a rumour ofcourse. But don't think O'Neill will take any ****.

Yeah we don't want goal scorers on the pitch if they are a bit of an arse off it. :p

For someone who likes to promote positivity I would have thought you would prefer to bask in the happiness generated from a win as opposed to looking for something to be critical about, syd?

We won the game coming from behind which is only the 3rd time we have achieved such a feat in over 3 years. Martin O'Neill has managed to pull us out of the bottom three after only 1 game in charge now isn't that a good thing? Noble will get his chance...

I'm away to pop the kettle on for a nice brew.

I too have heard this rumour, but it often seems to go hand in hand with natural ability so shouldn't stop him getting his chance...

    having a bad day Syd?

No one is telling you to shut up. Samba was excellent today and prevented us from scoring on a few occasions and rovers tactics in the 2nd half were defensive to say the least. Ricco best chance he missed cos he did not expect to get the ball - nobody would have banked on Sess' cross nutmegging 2 blackburn players!!

Oniel said Noble wasnt strong enough yet, due to his recent injuries. Maybe Noble is having some problems due to growing and the physio's want him to strengthen his back 1st?

I thought the game was crying out for Noble in the last 10 mins with crosses dropping in the 6 yard box but I can't grumble with the final outcome. We won so I now couldn't care aless that Noble didn't come off the bench.

As for Noble off the pitch, I know a lass at work who knows him quite well, she said he was at the hairdressers during the Wigan game, any bloke who books a hair appointment for 3pm on a Saturday wants shot.

Don't worry Syd, I also wondered why Noble wasn't on and why he didn't come on instead of Ji. Pehaps MON wants to keep him under wraps for a difficult game, we can only wonder because it's MON that makes the decisions

No one wants to have bad thoughts; we won.
Would've been good to see noble play, maybe MON didn't think he'd do well vs Samba and Dann?

    Doesn't matter, though! We won!

I think playing a young kid against Samba might have knocked him back a bit. Tough ask for a first game. MON's given chances to Vaughan and McClean today and that was encouraging. Noble soon I reckon though.

Dont apologise mate, you have a fair point.
I think Noble could have a great future, but i know MON based on previous years and his post match talk wanted a bigger man up front and Noble isint that.
I also do think many a young player has had a great reserve team stat pack but couldnt cut it, but im sure he will get his chance, just not today!

this. samba and dann would have eaten him alive. if you read MONs quotes on him, unlike bruce he doesnt say he needs to bulk up but get his strength up due to his back injury plus he's size he'd get bullied off the ball.

I agree with this. I remember back in my teens I was small & lightweight. Used to play left back.

There were some big younguns around. I used to love flying down the wing & overlapping with our winger. One time this big CB hit me so hard it was just like in the old cartoons where you see stars. I nearly choked on my own tongue that day.

There but for the grace of god.

    Happy days.

Can't understand how Ji gets the nod over Noble, doesn't matter about your size if you keep getting into the right positions as Noble does very well. The little fit guy should run rings around the big uns, especially when he keeps getting into the right areas in the 6 yard box. Not talking ariel balls here but into the feet and body, Don't think Samba could have lived with his pace, just my opinion though.

as much as i wanted to see noble play today i reckon he would of got tortured today off samba the day and i dont think you really want to go into a game like today with 2 very inexperienced strikers cos if it went wrong the manager would get hammered and so would the players confidence.
mclean looked well tasty today ....finally a winger who will terrorise defenders summit we haven't had in a while !!
