Agree. Needs to have the courage of his convictions (no pun intended) and stop trying to please the liberal middle classes. They are not Labour's natural voters, the working class are. It is like a husband not giving his wife enough love and affection and she ends up running off with a greasy lothario called Nigel who has ulterior motives.
I mention this in passing, and without expressing any view, merely a question. If the current Chancellor had been a man, and was seen wiping tears away while sitting on the Front Bench, would the general reaction have been the same as the one that the current incumbent received?
