I was sworn off ebikes like a ****in vigilante <laugh>

And then I had a go on one lol

I've still got my mountain bike. This one is more like an all terrain electric moped. I picked it up cheap 2nd hand and it's loads of fun. But yeah I used to think it was cheating, but having one now, it's just a bit of a different 'sport'. It means you still put in the same amount of effort, but just go a lot further.

I guess some people use them to just iron out all of the challenges, whack them on the fastest setting and blast around everywhere at top speed. But I'm aiming to get 50/60 miles out of it and then use it on a bike packing trip

The top speed by law is 15.5 mph, I remember reading up about these in the Kent rag. Anything more than that and it's considered a motor vehicle which requires tax, mot and insurance.

Although to be fair, I'd probably prefer an e-bike, but that is one ugly ****er, but if it does what you want it to that's all that matters. I've been tempted by e-bikes, but I know a bike of any kind I will just kill myself, so my thought process is best avoided.
