If this is true, along with what M88 said about a payment from a non-UK account, it again begs the question why is there such dissonance between the money we seem to have to throw around and our ability to meet payment deadlines? Or in other words, if we can afford to make that dodgy payment why can't we afford to just pay our obligations in the first place? It just doesn't make sense, along with all the free holidays, Sky TV cameras etc. These are not the actions of a man who has run out of money, surely?
That would be an incredibly dangerous game to be playing. Making payments off the books is a big part of the Premier League’s case against Manchester City.
Would piss off efl I think Acun navigating around the restrictions if it happened, he would probably try do more .
If they don’t find out … **** um … The game of football has had dodgy dealings basically since it’s inception no difference in 2025.
I wouldn't have thought we're in a position to be throwing that kind of money around at this point so I'll take it with a pinch of salt. If it were to happen,it adds another £8million to our growing debt?
I was thinking about the barras market in glasgow but my boss has just asked me to stay on as a full time personal chef...happy for me at least..feel for my colleagues.
I suppose if Acun made a payment directly to Oktay Ercan through an offshore account, the EFL would struggle to prove it was a business transaction between City and Westerlo unless there was a paper trail that explicitly said so. It’s still risky and based on his court case in Turkey and lack of subtlety in general, I have zero faith the ****ing idiot wouldn’t get caught and get us in more bother.
This is a man who even if he had run out of money, would probably do everything within his power to make it look otherwise.
Kieran Maguire has said the same about Acun as when the Allam's were here, (and many other clubs) we continue to be funded by the owner and as long as he continues doing so it's fine, if he can't/won't continue to fund us... Abridged version, relax, as nothing anyone on here says or does will affect future events. See you next season, and future ones. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
If we pay the fee for Frigan in Jan ‘27 as Fletch is reporting. We’ll be away from the Carvalho FFP year I think. Jan’27 (26/27) will have last season (24/25) and this season (25/26) losses in the cycle. I don’t think is deliberate but looks like the club are go to try and make the situation work. Feels like whatever is going on we have to navigate this year to get past that 23/24. Don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing but it’s definitely mad.
