I do love the bbc written commentary, ‘Lando Norris keeps hold of the lead but Charles Leclerc has been overtaken by Charles Leclerc.
Well done to Lando. He really needed that and he'll be confident going into his home GP. Ferrari have got to be chuffed with that result. Hopefully they getting closer to sorting out the floor issues. As for Williams, I prefer not to speak. Shout out to Lawson and Bortoleto, P6 and P8!
Bit of an odd race really. Race was split into 4 groups: the McLarens in a class of their own, the Ferraris were way behind them but once Max was wiped out by Kimi they had no competition for 3rd and 4th, George on his own in 5th, too fast for the teams behind him but the Merc does not like the heat! And then the best of the rest.
Excellent start for the Brits today. Sonay Kartel knocked out 20th seed Ostapenko in the ladies singles and in the mens world number 733 Oliver Tarvet won his match in straight sets, potentially setting up a huge match on Centre Court against Alcaraz.
Cameron Norrie putting in a good performance so far. 2 sets to 1 up against the No12 seed Tiafoe. Probably jinxed him now.
I liked his resilience. In the 3rd and 4th set he got himself a break ahead, only to lose his own serve and effectively give Tiafoe the momentum, but he just dug in and broke him again. Great performance.
Lewis looking quick as ever at Silverstone. Even though I’m cross about it, as I was meant to be there…
It does look like Ferrari have figured some things out. The new floor seems to have improved the car for sure. Forecast is somewhat interesting. I quote the Met Office for Sunday: "Rather cloudy with showers on Sunday, locally heavy". That could spice things up!
I can make it. It's just that the ticket (which was paddock club hospitality too) was dependent upon me taking a certain celeb, who decided yesterday that she wasn't going to come after all...
Seeing as Silverstone is just down the road from me, I could shave the beard, put on a wig and pretend to be her if that helps?
