I'm just doing my daily trawl through the strange world that is MSN. Drawn by a piece about a Republican who apparently thinks the Moon landings were fake, I've come across the following "evidence" of time travel.

Obviously twiddling your fingers and counting the dots on the ceiling....plus having rain* dribble races down your windows are not enough to keep you occupied at the moment notDistant........we must be near spending big on a striker soon....its not as if we haven't got the money.....that'll cheer you up.

PS*......that is assuming you can remember what rain is.....cos there aint any around here anymore......people have been using their hoses around here since the end of March......All the lawnmower is doing is cutting the weeds down to dead grass level.

Someone has claimed to have seen a few drops of rain....people are coming out in the cul-de-sac and running around gleefully shouting at the top of their voices.....scenes resembling 1966......those drops have now dried up.... and people are disappointingly trudging back indoors.....it might of been just an over adjusted windscreen wiper from a passing car....trying to remove the layers of dust from their windscreen......(you do get cars driving to the end of the cul-de-sac sometimes just to turn around).....at least the temperature has dropped 18F/10C lower than yesterday.....that was a very uncomfortable night.....at least I managed to get to sleep before the fan finished its 2hr setting cycle.

I'm sorry about the above.....I just walked around to the dustbins with a few bits and pieces for our array of bins....and I actually felt something that reminded me of rain.....the sky is quite dark at the moment.

    Not my lucky day yesterday.

I received a letter from Citroen telling me to stop driving my C3.....evidently someone in France got fatally injured when in a crash their airbag exploded in there face.

I have been told that my driver and passenger airbags need to be replaced free of charge and in the meanwhile not to drive my car.

I was given a website and Tel No to book a slot when they could replace my airbags.

It seems that the inflators in the airbag has been found in ONE CASE to have degraded and caused a fatality during a crash.

Citroen C3 and C4's from 2010 upto 2020's need to be recalled to replace their airbags WORLDWIDE.....can you imagine how many vehicles that might be.

From now on things become difficult.....I went on line and answered all the questions required....but it refused to accept my registration so that I could be booked in to have my airbags replaced......it refused to accept my mobile number telling me it was incorrect......I checked everything out and my details where all correct.

This is when I swapped over to the helpline telephone number.......i was told the queue was over 5 minutes long and told to "please hold on we will get to you a soon as possible"....................................................1hr 42 mins 37 seconds later I got through.....in that time i had been subjected to classical music on what seemed to be a 10 second loop.....talk about never wanting to ever hear that music again is the polite way of saying it.

Having fought my way past at least six levels of automated voices I eventually talked (i think) to a human being.....he sounded French (citroen ?) and all he could suggest was that I should try another browser.....................this i eventually did and got the same result.....having spent hours on this problem I gave in and stopped for the day.

This morning I found another phone number...and got through straight away....I was rather speechless and wasn't prepared for such a result....but pulled myself together.....and having explained the problem it was suggested I phoned a Citroen dealer direct.....and was given two dealerships near me.....one 7 miles the other 10 miles away......I phoned the nearest and was given six options....one being for the airbag problem....which suggested I phoned the number that I had spent so long going doolally over yesterday....so end of phone call.

I phoned the number which I had tried this morning again..... and again got straight through to....and told them the result....this time they took my vehicle details and said that they would try to resolve the problem....and would get back to me.

In the meanwhile I officially shouldn't drive my car....I was told during the last phone call that they knew that the waiting list meant late August early September would possibly be the earliest that i would be booked in for new airbags ???.....before that I am due an MOT....I'm dreading phoning them in case they say we cannot pass your car until your airbags have been renewed....I will use the car sparingly in the meanwhile....but if my MOT runs out I am then totally snookered without replacement airbags.....and no MOT would definately get my car off the road.

I did see a story in the news of a lady who’s stranded for a similar period of time, so if it’s any consolation, you aren’t the only one.

Thanks notDistant that's cheered me up.

I have phoned my usual service and MOT garage (30 yrs) up and they say as long as the warning light is not on that will be ok....they may make a comment in the foot notes about it....but other than that it's fine.

Thinking about it......Citroen garages will certainly not have the parts available for the thousands of cars involved.....and certainly not the staff.....it could take months to sort it all out....financially worldwide they will take a real hammering.........courtesy cars are out of the question there wouldn't be enough anyway.

If I played it officially by the book my car could be off the road until maybe September.

Ministry of Transport (MOT) certificate is required in this country for all vehicles over three years of age....to make sure that they are roadworthy.

Surely BC you have an equivalent requirement in Canada to prove road worthiness ?

This is a manufacturer recall by Citroen anyway isn't it..... a fault has been found in their cars which renders all of them potentially dangerous.

I had a manufacturer's security recall recently - same principle. That was just a 10 minute software update though!
