    Since they've signed so much total and utter **** over the last couple of years, surely the odds grow that they buy a striker who'll actually be quite good?

    Yeah, although it seems like a lot of USMNT fans don't really get how. A friend of mine is a NYRB fan who lives in New Jersey and he says their national team is very confusing and political at times. Has always felt like there is a bit of a bias towards MLS-based players, where possible, to promote the MLS

    I guess if both of them are abroad now and end up playing in the same English league, that could be interesting

    MLS based and American born might give him the leg up when it comes to a marginal decision.

    I'm very happy about this. I think he'll be an excellent player in the Championship and will improve the more he plays.

    Yeah, only got one year left on his contract which is why the price is so low. So even in a worst case scenario where he struggles and wants to leave we should make money on him.

    The VFM is heightened if he ends up being the US' number 9 in a home world cup next year (I LOVE watching Saints players at World Cups). He's got all the motovation he needs to make this work and at the moment we have 3 other strikers all with excellent records at this level.
