You know that, and I know that, but the fact remains that unless Labour up their game massively, we could have Farage in no.10 in 4 years time. It doesn’t matter about the quality of the candidates, they will attract votes on the back of Farage’s face being constantly on the TV. A big drop-off in the Labour vote is likely unless Starmer gets his act together.

I think the threat of Farage is apparent but overrated. Take Farage down and there is very little left that can hold its own. As I said before, the election is Labour's to lose. I am not convinced that Starmer will be at the helm but with a new leader I don't think there are any realistic challengers.

And yet Trump did exactly the thing you're claiming to be so unlikely. Without Trump the Republicans were toast, he had no political experience (far less than Farage) and no real manifesto first time around. People vote for change, even when that change is entirely self-destructive.

I genuinely think there's a very decent chance that reform win the next election unfortunately. Labour are extremely unpopular even with many of their traditional supporters and aren't helping themselves in office either.

They basically won a huge majority on the basis of not being Tories but that won't be enough next time around imo.

Hung parliament probably the best bet I'd say. This potential labour party split will be music to Farage's ears too and could arguably be the final piece for him.

Long way to go though yet ot course.

I would wait to see how badly Reform councillors perform and when the first of them get challenged by elements like Trade Unions , increased Council Tax bills , mismanagement and reduction of public services , etc , etc. There will be chaos in those councils where they have control.

I would concede Farage could become Leader of the Opposition at a long shot but FPTP will deny him an election win. Even if he did achieve LotO , any incumbent PM would quickly take him down and make him the laughing stock he is.

This is just a flash in the pan moment like Nick Clegg.

But the outrage is aimed at punk bands and activists calling out a genocide the UK is complicit in.

Words are much more offensive than murdering civilians if you're led to believe what the government and press tells you.

    When's it going to stop?

Nick Clegg was in government, even if he wasn’t PM. He held a share of power long enough to triple tuition fees, privatise the Royal Mail, and implement the austerity program which crippled public services for a generation. Farage is waiting in the wings ready to do far, far worse.

Whatever the weaknesses of this Labour Government may be, they are the only adults in the room, and this country’s only hope of building a future for our kids and grandkids

    Pour encourager les autres?

The French and Russian revolutions both replaced one tyranny with another. They did serve notice on the oligarchy of their day, to watch their step though.

Get rid of Trump, JD & possibly Hesgarth & I think it’s “reasonable” thereafter. Might be wrong but I think those 3x heads would be a worthwhile “risk”. Bon magnifigue

You were absolutely correct, the fact that no one knew why she was upset, but was gloated over by the Leader of the Opposition in public was why I criticised her in my post.

Lets not forget the ongoing atrocities by Russia in Ukraine compounded by Trump withdrawing support.

"The Netherlands Defence Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD) and the Netherlands General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD) and the German foreign intelligence service Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) warn that Russia’s use of chemical weapons in Ukraine is intensifying. This is a violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention."
"It was already known that Russia is using teargas in Ukraine, but MIVD, AIVD and BND can now confirm that Russia is also employing chloropicrin, a more potent chemical agent that can be fatal when used in high concentrations in enclosed spaces. This represents an even more serious violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention, which prohibits the use of this chemical choking agent under any circumstances."

Just because a group has a valid clause to protest, it doesn't excuse them for behaving like terrorists! Fine lines....
