Be sad if Neil and Cirkin go, but sounds like if it happens it's despite club trying to keep them. Already lost Jobe and Watson similarly. Player driven. Not clubs fault.
Sunderland’s recruitment team are understood to have agreed the framework of a deal worth around £21.5m with their counterparts at Stamford Bridge and are trying to engineer a swift resolution to the ongoing discussions. However, they are not the only club to have held talks with Chelsea over the Serbia international, who spent last season playing in the French top-flight with Strasbourg, where he was a team-mate of Diarra. Bournemouth are also understood to have held advanced discussions as they look to sign a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga, who spent last season on loan at the Vitality Stadium, but who completed a permanent move to Arsenal from Chelsea earlier this week. Bournemouth have discussed financial terms of their own with the Chelsea hierarchy, with two continental clubs also believed to be involved ongoing talks over Petrovic. Sunderland officials are aware of the competition, hence their desire to hold personal talks with Petrovic and his representatives as quickly as possible. Ideally, Sunderland would like to have the situation resolved before the end of the weekend.
Stop it man, I'm trying not to get excited about signings until they're officially done after the Polish keeper... Have to keep reminding myself it doesn't matter how keen the player is or how confident the club are, someone can always swoop in and offer mega millions at the last minute
We show them a picture of our stadium v theirs, and our fans v theirs. That’s all we need to do. Yes’s they established but they ain’t in Europe and they are a tinpot club. We will be selling ‘you want to be part of this story’ And showing them clips of the Ballard scenes.
They had a good year but they are still losing a lot of players and are still a much, much, MUCH smaller club than us
I'd have said we had very little chance competing with Bournemouth a week ago. Now I'm not so sure. Habib get to him!!
He would arguably get more media spotlight at us and we wouldn't likely stand in his way if some European powerhouse came in after a good season
I'm not being overconfident here, however could you imagine the jawdie nashun meltdoon if we won the FA Cup
The "two continental clubs in negotiations" are also a concern. I don't see this Echo report as much progress towards a resolution as to where he ends up, even if it is indication that its more advanced than sky etc said.
Got to remember we still have Reinildo to be announced, I imagine that’ll be 1 of things he’s talking about announced by Sunday That Brad is talking about
btw i think these reporters were behind Sacha, he did say we were close, which would make sense with a fee agreed etc, just a lot of competition to fight, hopefully our club's size, history and new project can convince him. Maybe his former teammate Habib too!
