Yeah it’s fine when the updates are on here There on the other thread regularly however I’m fine I’ll go with the flow I can pick up some info on the other thread that I’m interested in The most important thing is that we all post what we can find out if any
Yeah I think pretty much everything Sunderland ends up here - maybe bar the discussion. It'll be fine.
This summer, Ilya Zabarnyi (Bournemouth) is the priority of Paris Saint-Germain. But the capital club has to face Cherries that remain firm. For this reason, the negotiations are slipping. At the same time, the European champions are making progress on other issues. The names of Mario Gila (Lazio) or Diogo Leite (Union Berlin) were mentioned. This Monday, a new name came out of the hat. Marca reveals that the residents of the Parc des Princes also included Yarek Gasiorowski in their short-list. Aged 20, this Spanish central defender is under contract until 2027 with FC Valencia. A club that will not be difficult to convince since it is open to the sale of the player who has a release clause of €60 million. But Paris will have competition if it ever decides to accelerate on this file. Indeed, Brighton and Sunderland are interested in its services. The Dutch press, on the other hand, mentions the track leading to PSV Eindhoven and especially Feyenoord, which made two offers. The first of €6 million, the second of €8 million. But the club is in the meantime in €10 and €12 million. A sum that would not be a problem for PSG. (Footmercato)
Have you noticed that all these ‘little’ clubs have players going for £50 million plus. We are pleased when we get (or sell) a £30 million player yet yer Bournemouths, Brightons, Brentford’s and others are selling players for twice that. I think our best chance of staying up will be how RLB performs. He will have lots of very good players but compared with even the smaller clubs we will find it hard to compete. It looks like the Club is going to have a good go at staying up but it will be hard. We are still odds on favourites to go down. Let’s hope we surprise a few and get a lower mid table finish.
That’s simply because they’re trusted sellers. we’ve only just started the selling side of the model so clubs aren’t sure how much we’ve developed players etc, whereas your Brentford and Brighton have been doing this model for years
You're right about those clubs but, as you say, it's clinging on in 4th place that's critical. It has to be said that we've sold players, for those amounts, but they've been young in the case of Watson and Jobe. Both might easily become worth double what we've sold them for and the sell on values are important. All fascinating to watch and there's definitely been a change in how we're operating.
Not true, people just prefer to have the discussion on the other thread, the links still get posted here and can be discussed here too
Matthis Abline is a ST we have wanted for multiple years now. Starred in the U21 Euros for France recently after a good season with Nantes. This is someone I know a bit about, he's RLB's ideal striker, works hard, sharp, links play. Would be happy with this
FC Lorient could lose one of its key players, Arthur Avom Ebong , whose contract expires in a year. The 20-year-old Cameroonian midfielder has already attracted the attention of several European clubs, including Liverpool , Chelsea, West Ham and Bournemouth, as revealed exclusively by Africafoot . Avom made 32 appearances last season, scoring two goals and providing six assists, helping Lorient gain promotion to Ligue 1. His former manager, Régis Lebris, who is now in charge of Sunderland FC, has taken note of his performances and is keen to acquire his services. According to information confirmed by reliable sources to the Africafoot editorial team , Sunderland are in advanced discussions with Lorient to sign Arthur Avom Ebong. The club is ready to offer a four-year contract to the player, who seems open to a departure this summer. If the deal is concluded, Arthur Avom will take a significant step forward in his career. With an estimated market value of €5 million, Avom would bring valuable experience and skills to the team. Sunderland FC aims to stay in the top flight and is ready to invest in recruiting the best players. The outcome of this deal is worth watching closely.
French speaking, so I believe, and Lorient owe us one after they mugged us for NDong. Loïc Féry is the owner and he's overspent recently. He's friends with RLB as I've been told.
https://www.safc.com/news/2025/july/01/nathan-bishop-joins-afc-wimbledon/ Sunderland AFC confirms that Nathan Bishop has joined AFC Wimbledon. The goalkeeper has agreed a three-year contract at Plough Lane, bringing an end to a two-year spell at the Stadium of Light. After spending the majority of last season on loan in the third tier with Wycombe Wanderers and Cambridge United, Bishop returns to League One following the Dons’ Play-Off Final triumph in May. Sporting Director, Kristjaan Speakman said: “Nathan has been an outstanding professional throughout his time at Sunderland AFC, playing an important role within the squad and the dressing room. Although injuries disrupted his playing time whilst on loan last season, he ended the campaign strongly. This is a step he’s ready to take and his professionalism and work ethic will ensure he has an excellent platform to build from at AFC Wimbledon. We all wish him well.” All at Sunderland AFC thank Nathan for his contribution and wish him the best of luck in the next chapter of his career.
