Back in the 1960's Rovers made a formal complaint to RL about a referee known as "Sargeant Major Eric Clay ". Dont think this has ever been forgotten by those in charge .
Don't think he had to lock himself in the closet to escape though. And he was in Willerby square, erm, in full view of the police station across the road.
