The Saudi interest is a good litmus test for Bulka. I loved our lads last season as they all wanted to be there. Even Jobe wore his heart on his sleeve in the play offs, despite the fact he was off - you can live with that as his motives are purely football driven. A Saudi move is purely down to money, and if that’s what Bulka wants, he’s not the right fit for what we have going on. It would be a huge shame, as he looks a real step above, but it is what it is.

I use Claude at work as it is much better at reasoning and has a better ethical model. Ok for some scaffolding of ideas.

Gemini is a chat gpt alternative for me in a simple ui, more upto date. Basic info surfacing.

If I had to put my career on the line, or my credibility, I wouldnt use any and do my own research and writing. Just me maybe.

unfortunately in my industry (management consulting) - AI is essential now. It’s either use it or be left behind.

as you say. What’s vital with AI is you use anything that comes out of it as a starting point. Never a finishing point. You have to do your own work on top

 

I am in Higher Ed, Russell Group, so can turn my nose up at it and ignore the rampant onset of progress.

There’s a reckoning coming for it imo. The use case for this stuff and the genuine benefits struggle to outweigh the environmental impacts and societal corrosion in my view. Not to mention that each sector has its own native tool and they rarely talk across ecosystems - so they’re building in their own end via subscription. Add in the hallucinations and outright lies and I have to wonder when the penny will drop. It’s designed to pathologically lie to you and provide a veneer of confidence and truth. It doesn’t actually need to achieve either, it just has to convince the user that it is. Vampire capitalism will push it as an inevitable advance, and the magic bullet for more staff reductions. But eventually we’ll realise that it’s just an expensive and environmentally ruinous gaslighting machine. Let’s hope we haven’t done too much damage by then! At least GPT and Altman won’t be around too much longer. Only so much VC cash they can access before people realise they don’t generate value. The fact that they’ve currently got multiple lawsuits that could bring them a-cropper is the icing on the cake.

My mate has done his whole lvl 6 HNC in engineering (I think) with chat GPT, got a very good job anarl - using Harvard referencing. I said surely the assessor knows you’re A) from Washington and B) thick as pigs **** in school so it’s unrealistic that you’re using terminology of people who are actually very intelligent. Apparently not.

 

Probably will when the lads made probably the biggest decision in his life, financially speaking.
