Worse than our quality players moving on, our best players opting not to re-sign or to transfer away shows the squad doesn't have belief. I think we are in for a tough season at this rate.
I think Johnson will be good enough in this division, not sure about Clarke for where we want to get to. I'd imagine this will mean getting a replacement. Disappointed Burgess left, club couldve handed that better I feel but Tuanzebe feel disappointed with him as we've given him a chance to build his career back and he hasn't shown loyalty to us. He looked like defensively he could cope with the PL but to be fair wasn't any great shakes in the Champ and was injured for big parts of last season.
I suspect family ties pulled him back North, but disappointing period, as we lose several PL calibre players.
Nat Phillips from Liverpool to WBA that’s a solid signing for them. Will be interesting to see a flurry of signings next week as we enter July and a new PSR year Morning to you all
We like to watch what rivals are doing in the transfer market, you’ve obviously no interest, either that or you’re still bitter your Leeds crumble joke fell flat on its face
We’re linked with so many players it’s silly season time. We’ve had a German International striker join on a free, secured our first choice CB but lost out on a midfielder we were after
I did say this “We are treading water with our transfer business so far and man for man - not having retained Travis, Sarmiento or Moore, with Jackson leaving too and the injury list on top of that - at the moment we are far weaker than last season.” and this “We are going to get absolutely murdered on the break at times” and this “I can’t really get my head around all the focus on the defensive signings when we are so weak in midfield and in attacking areas.“ But then I was very happy with the signings of the likes of Hutchinson, Szmodics and Phillips at the time too. Letting our promotion winning hero goalkeeper leave over peanuts, the desperate and ludicrously expensive signing of Muric and farcical goalkeeping situation that then unfolded at the same time as we spent so much money on defenders who didn’t improve us struck a fatal blow.
We’re very well supported, even in friendlies, we’ve sold out for our first friendly game in Dublin, 45k tickets. I guess the Germans fear policing issues, they’ve done similar before, if the club don’t learn lessons ‘if’ they wanted fans there then it’s their own fault.
And this…. I think we’ve done far better than any of us could have hoped for. There were no guarantees we would even sign Omari. If it doesn’t work it doesn’t work but without the benefit of hindsight there are not many of these decisions we can question as things stand. Well done Town. And this…. Not a bit of it! We have a number of exciting attacking wingers and midfielders now. Couldn’t be further from the dross of Mick McCarthy’s time. The only area of weakness now is between the sticks. And this… I know some manage it but it's hard to fault our business. My only small gripe is that we didn't sign Sarmiento. The balance between hunger and experience is just fantastic. If we can get Cajuste in then the final positions to strengthen would be the number 9 and the goalkeepers - but we can strengthen again in January.
