Both massive clubs imo, what makes Leeds big is that they’re a one club city. I work with a load of Leeds fans and they do have a lot of fans, they’ll easily fill their new 53k seater when it’s finished. But the reality is both of these “giants” of old English football have been pretty average for decades upon decades now.

Very odd. In last few decades more success, but never been biggest club in country or world as we were for several decades (albeit a looong time ago). 70's success and the 92 win. Minnows man.

Diarra - completed medical and signed contract

Bulka - Keith downie said it’s close

Gonzalo Garcia - Young striker from Real Madrid linked by a huge Spanish outlet. Made an offer of a loan with a mandatory purchase of €15m +€5m if we stay up

    Lauriente - Nothing new really

    Guendouzi - Nothing new yet

    Angelino - Nothing new yet

Also Garcia played 17 games at CF and 17 games at RW last season. So a versatile forward

Totally agree with you, a lot of what I say is tongue in cheek... That said...a good measure of "true" fans is when both clubs were in League 1...Both clubs didn't fill their respective stadiums and both had questionable seasons in that league. Over their time in League 1 Leeds averaged around 25k...Sunderland averaged 31k. You are right tho' Leeds are a massive club and yes they do have great fanatical support, but seemingly when the chips are down....they are not so keen to maintain their support

The thing is the 31k is our fanatical support, they are there no matter what happens. Imo that is the definition of fanatical.
I wouldn't describe someone as a fanatical supporter who stayed away in the L1 days and turned up for half a dozen games last season and a couple extra this season, but one of the first to sign up for a season ticket for next.
Everyone supports the team in different ways and I don't have a problem with that.
Due to work I can't get to every home game, due to financial reasons I can't do every away game.
There aren't many clubs in the Premier or championship that would get anywhere near 25k in L1, I think those numbers show which teams have the massive support

Probably 5 clubs in the country getting 25 plus in League One.

    Us
    Leeds
    Mags
    United
    Liverpool.

Derby had very good crowds as well.

31k was insane and it actually went up the final year we were down as fans galvanised to support club.

They do think they’re a lot bigger than they are mind.. but that’s my own opinion, that the sheer size of their catchment area means they’ll have a decent following and you’re right about the L1 attendances, I totally forgot about that. When I look at Sunderland I just think we scream premier league. We need to be playing in the PL we are a huge club, that’s not me being entitled whatsoever but I think there’s probably 14/15 huge clubs and I’d say we’re one of them. Leeds are probably lingering around the cut off for those teams - they’re obviously bigger than the likes of Bournemouth, Brighton, Palace etc but with the money involved nowadays nothing is a certainty. We could see Brighton stay in the PL for another 20/30 years after being relative nobodies for most of their clubs history.
