3 from me for tomorrow... TRUSTYOURINSTINCT 2.55 CURRAGH.. I posted how the last time this hose ran it posted an extraordinary time 3.5 seconds below standard. I checked on a stop watch and it was absolutely right.. Evens ( ** now 1/2) PERFECT PART. 410 CHESTER. Ran perhaps her best race in a Listed last time against elders... 10/1 general... (** now 7/1) and a really left field not left field selection JUAN LE PANS 5.50 DONCASTER. Hard to believe this horse has dropped 21lbs in a year and whilst its form looks poor this season, he may be a better horse on turf and in some of its run this season usually in class 2 are ok. this is a big class drop too. 20/1 general. (edit** price collapse now 9 and 10)
I'm trusting my instinct and going along with you on the 2.55 Curragh. Picked it out earlier, along with some odds on shots that I gave a miss. Looks a banker to me
At 50/1 I think ALRAZEEN is overpriced for the Pitmens Derby (3:15) The claimer taking off 5lbs is very useful and puts him right in the mix.
It looks like another weekend to go and find some paint to watch dry... Newcastle: on the kitty litter, usual problems of turf and kitty litter form; ignore. York: small fields for four races, odds on shot in the twelve-runner opener. Windsor: small fields. Chester: small fields. The Curragh: biggest field in four pattern races is seven, all odds on favourites; Kalpana should beat Whirl in the Group 1. The trainers will be bleating about no opportunity for their horses in a couple of weeks time, which is a euphemism for my donkey can only win if the fast horses get stuck in the mud so I won’t run them on proper flat racing ground.
No money down for me but I was interested in East India Dock in the Plate and I must say he was given an absolute shocker of a ride by James Doyle - sat motionless out the back coming off the final bend and the leaders kicking on. He stayed on really well up the home straight but was left fer too much to do. Amazing when youu think that his juvenile hurdle performances were charactarised by how strongly he travelled. I'm sure he could have been involved in the finish if Doyle had kept him a little bit nearer the place - not stone last FFS
I'm talking through my p[ocket here, but as has been highlighted above there are some jockeys that are stealing a living. On Perfect Part a 7lb claimer who looked like he'd never ridden before. and then JUAN LE PANS... this horse was gambled into 7/2 and the jockey contrived at a straight course to get it stopped not one, not twice, but three times... why oh why do we bother.
On Trustyourinstinct incidentally, surely this has Melbourne Cup written all over it, I spoke about its last race times, Today it was 0.91 second faster than the Pretty Polly Group 1 and not hard ridden.
Maybe Champion Hurdle... I did think of that ... its already won over hurdles... in a weak year .. good ground...
