Diarra is just next level to what we've done thr last few years, investing in young players and aiming to develop them Quality player, now let's get the scarf picture
Delighted with this! We need to remember though that we'll likely miss him from a couple of weeks before Christmas until the end of January. As far as the fee's concerned, looks like we're shopping in the £20m approx area of the market. Le Fee, the supposed bid for Bulka and now this lad....whose reported fee of £30m includes add-ons and sell-ons,so could be based originally around £20m. So,if we're looking to sign half a dozen players at that level, less the income from Jobe and Tommy and others we'll be looking to move on,we could be thinking of a net spend of somewhere around £75m! Unthinkable a very short time ago.
Far too many of our fans write players off before they’ve had a chance to show what they’re capable of.
Saw someone make a good point online and said that we are effectively signing Enzo and Diarra with the money made from Jobe and Watson (plus about 10 million of our budget) so I could easily see us spend another 120+ million
Shades of Ndong, Gyan and Paul Pogba. Announce hes got a hole in his heart, please, dont hurt me. Sorry I'm venting.
I reckon ( or did) about 70m net spend with around 50m in from Jobe, Watson and Ekwah plus a few smaller fees so 120m total spend but if we sign the lads that look likely( Diarra, Lauriente, Bulka) that’s already pushing 75m with Le Fee included and we’re linked with the likes of Singo and Guendouzi. interesting to see if we’ve really pushed on permanent signings but will also bring in a couple of loans and a free transfer or two.
Loving the ambition of the owner... KLD has played a blinder in keeping within a budget during the league 1 and championship days..seemingly waiting for the riches of the EPL... We still have more money to come in as and when some of the fringe players from the last season or so are shipped out..these are very exciting times to be supporting the lads
It's why the approach has been sustainable and ensuring that uk based players are sold for big licks. It's creates massive headroom to reinvest. It's also why the new DOF has come in as it's next level overview of top talent across the continent.
Can’t wait to see what’s next already. Hopefully our own players can raise their own games, plenty potential already on our own books
