    I have a different view. Jobe played through tough spells in season 1. He was physically stretched, and more importantly mentally. His mind and body grew over the summer and he came back absolutely a different animal. I think Rigg will do the same, maybe more so as his exposure is greater.

    I have seen loads of lads in their late teen years do what Jobe did (in a less illustrious way). They find the mens game so tough, but the mentally strong ones come through it and improve leaps and bounds overnight. Some go backwards to then come forward. I am so confident Rigg will be physically and mentally dominant next season. Could be wrong like, but I wouldnt mind a few quid on him being one of the first names on the teamsheet by the time November comes around.

    That's fair enough, sounds like you don't have a different view because that's exactly what I was saying will happen and has happened so far. We agree a lot of the development happened after the first season over the summer when the player gets time to reflect, rest and come back to a month of training.

    However, there's no harm in not making Rigg need to be first choice and I'm definitely of the opinion we should sign someone in his position for him to challenge with.

    Not disagreeing mate. I just think Rigg will earn his spot as one of the best midfielders we have. I really cant wait to watch him. Not many lads at his age have a footballing brain like his. I watch the players we are linked with and honestly non excite me as much as Rigg does. We have the very real deal already in our squad. Bring on the prem!

    Aye, fair mate. Challenge for every player is good. I think Rigg of course needs it. Wouldnt be the end of the world for a Hendo character to guide him a little bit too. I might be proven wrong, just think we will see a Rigg ready to fly come the season. Might end up with Diarra as first sub :emoticon-0112-wonde

    I'm of the belief if you're good enough you're old enough. Rigg is older than Yamal at Barca and he is an automatic first choice... I think Rigg is and should continue to be with us...he is a special talent, let the lad do what he's best at.

    I kinda understand it here. The narrative on Diarra has been that they really want him but are likely to lose out to a champions league side. So when they hear Sunderland have come in it must completely throw them.

    I would say a midfield of Le Fee, Stach and Diarra is comfortably top 10. But I dont want to sound biased.
