Good Morning. It's Wednesday 25th June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Ramsdale season long loan deal mooted

The Breakfast Debate caught up with Alfie House, a respected Saints journalist yesterday. In an insightful exchange of messages, House shed light on several intriguing potential moves that could see a social media figures around West Yorkshire go through the roof! Despite the recent divisional separation between Leeds United and the South Coast club, the cross-pollination of talent between the two remains a persistent story-line.

Leeds, in their pursuit of a much-needed shot-stopper, have been persistently linked with a host of goalkeepers. While Nick Pope and Yahia Fofana continue to feature in speculation, the name of Aaron Ramsdale has recently resurfaced with renewed vigour.

The former England and Arsenal number one, who has been heavily tipped for a move to Galatasaray this summer, appears to have a different preference according to House. Crucially, Ramsdale wants to remain within the Premier League.

The primary stumbling block for Leeds United in any potential acquisition is Ramsdale's substantial £20 million valuation. However, House hinted at a possibility that could bypass this financial barrier: a one-season loan deal. This revelation places Ramsdale firmly back in the shop window at Elland Road, offering a potentially viable, if temporary, solution for Leeds’ goalkeeping concerns.

Should Leeds cash in on Ramazani

Shifting focus to Southampton, the conversation with Alfie House also touched upon potential incomings. Rumours have swirled regarding the South Coast outfit's interest in a couple of key players. While Joel Piroe was apparently dismissed as a target, there are indications of potential movement concerning Largie Ramazani.

The former Belgium U21 winger has seen his game time significantly curtailed since returning from injury back in November, accumulating only around 300 minutes of on-field action. This limited involvement has fuelled speculation of a potential rift between Ramazani and manager Daniel Farke, hinting that a transfer, perhaps to Southampton, could be on the cards.

If Leeds are able to recoup what they paid for Ramazani, would it make sense to part ways, and reinvest the monies elsewhere? Similarly, a swap deal plus cash should not be ruled out either.

Bijol not suspended for Everton opener

Jaka Bijol's red card for Udinese in their final Serie A match against Fiorentina has sparked questions about his availability for Leeds United's opener against Everton. The centre-back received two yellow cards, resulting in his dismissal.

However, according to prominent Italian journalist Nima Tavallaey Roodsari, Bijol's suspension should not carry over to Leeds United's fixtures. Speaking exclusively to the Breakfast debate, Nima clarified that "they don't carry forward from league to league unless it is a serious violation like doping or gambling etc., at which point it's a punishment that comes from an international body."

    Morning all,

Keep Ramazani, he’s quality and will probably be at Leeds longer than Farke.

And stop messing around with a loan deal for Ramsdale. He and his family are apparently settled in Southampton.

Get a quality keeper who’s prepared to permanently settle in Leeds.

Keep Ramazini for another season. A few run outs in pl even as a sub would only increase his value. I missed the headlines when Farke joined Southampton, was it an overnight thing

Ramsdale apparently wants to stay down south. His missus had a baby and they are very happy where they are. The loan deal is there in case Southampton come straight back up.

    Morning all

Ramazani - There is a player in there, Farke might be out of a job by Christmas, keep him

Ramsdale - A terrible idea to loan him, absolutely shocking. If Southampton are promoted, we don't have a keeper next season, if he does well and we stay up we end up either not having a keeper or being a victim of our own success with Ramsdale's new asking price.

With his family happy in Southampton it will be a long commute for him, he won't be committed enough, sure he will stay near Elland Road for match days and training but he will be on a train to Southampton at every opportunity, we need to leave alone

Meslier - 10m Euro around £8.5m not bad for where we are at with him and only 12 months left on his contract

Is that a wish Eire, as I consider it unlikely to be relevant news, given that the shirt sponsor is from 3 years ago

Largie is fkn quality, no way Leeds should sell him ... just take a look at the 4th goal against Bristol, long ball in behind moving away from goal, ridiculous first touch that surprised the keeper, instant finish into far corner ... pure class, and if that were Thierry Henry then Sky would have the goal playing on repeat

Ramsdale seems to have lost confidence after his treatment by Arteta, maybe joining Leeds revives him, but it will be a gamble .. will be top class if he can find his feet

Where are the rumours regarding a striker?

Think we should keep Ramrazani as imo he has something to offer, particularly as he does go for goal, rather than trying to walk it in. My personal gripe is he’s quite greedy. That’s great if you can finish like Shearer/Lineker etc but frustrating if not. Think he will increase in value.

Any player that has to be persuaded to join the club, by arm twisting/demanding long contract or high wages should be left well alone. Can’t see the point of pursuing Ramsdale or the Lecce fella, if the stories are true. I understand the ramifications of that, but we’re not in a position to chuck money at it willy nilly as a newly promoted club.

I know that view won’t necessarily be welcomed here, but that’s my take on the transfer window

You lot are suckers for a step over. Yes Largie has plenty of talent. He showed promise in patches, and obviously injuries ruined the chance to see more of him and get him settled up to full fitness. The goal Billy refers to was technically brilliant.

But he couldn't last 20 minutes without blowing out of his arse and going missing from games. Couldn't stick to team orders.

Seems like a cracking lad but lacking what it takes, to be a top pro, between the ears. Maybe he'll learn. Hope so. They usually don't though. Happy to keep him for cameos, won't lose any sleep if he's moved on.

Saints fans seem to think Ramsdale was one of their top players last season. That's how bad they were defensively.

    Re Ramazani.

Before his injury he was looking like a very very good player. Quick, good touch, skillful, doesn't mind doing the defensive side and has an eye for goal. I think he has what it takes to be an asset in the PL even if it is off the bench.

Agree with Milky to a certain extent that he is a bit naive and needs to learn but I'm more than happy to give him a year or hopefully two in a PL squad to see if he progresses. He has the potential to be a top top player. Then again, so did Tyler Roberts at one point.
