Going behind so early you could see heads drop, then Donnelly getting injured topped it off. But to win the game in added time really showed the attitude of the players to turn it around. and good atmosphere once again. this should help kick start are season for real now. And rocky I agree with you bloomers was hard working fighting for place in the team again. 3 games at home, massive nine points ahead. We can win them. Exeter and Stevenage will be hard games to win, but achievable. And a long trip to a carlise side that are a good side, but we can take points. Am I the only one who thinks we can take points from these matches. Whos with me
matty b showed everything that we need to survive, passion, attitude and never say die commitment and if the rest of the team show that in the next few weeks we will be ok
Trouble is though Rocky, as soon as our attack breaks down, we are vulnerable. Something has to be done about the defence.
leon was awesome as usual but big dave had a bad game today and messed up badly for their second goal,we looked good going forward but our defence is what is gonna make or break us in the coming months, maybe gw should look for a defender to partner leon before its too late ,tunny is not good enough and winfield is off form at the moment ,so we either put young stewart in the team or get a defender in on loan
Trotta only has one more game left on his loan. Ideal Christmas present would be getting his loan extended for the rest of the season.
I can see us getting a point next weekend, the game against stevenage will be hard we play like we did on sat them 3 points and I can only see a win on boxing day they dont score to many
I am feeling good about the festive period. All teams in the bottom 1/3 of a division concede too many goals and we are no difference and won't be for the rest of this season, therefore you just need to ensure you are banging them in too. And i think with what is looking like a pretty clinical partnership in Bevs and Trotta, we have now got some serious goals in us. That's what's needed. We must keep Trotta, then we have a hope. And you never know, Ainsworth's legs might well be rejuvenated now (it was only a sore finger after all ha ha) so it wouldn't surprise me if he hits more form again - even if for only 70 mins a game. What a thought eh, Bevs, Trotta and Ainsworth all playing well....
Agreed Jock, we are looking good going forward and hopefully that will be good enough over the Christmas games to compensate for our leaky defence. We have to keep Trotta though, he's only played 2 games but already he is the obvious player to partner Beavon as he's needed good quality help all season. If these 2 can get a run of games together over the next couple of months then they could save our season. My other concern is losing Beavon in January. A lot of us on here have said in the past that if he adds goals to his game then he's a Championship level striker. Well those goals have arrived this season and I think we could receive some bids for him during the transfer window.
the one thing which may save the beaver from moving away is that he has only been a good scorer since the end of september. as they say form is temporary, class is perminant and even though we know better some other clubs may wish to wait and see how he develops until the summer i hope!!!
I live in Exeter so see a lot in the local papers about the team. Currently, they are a bit like us - decent going forward (Nardiello is potent at this level) but are liable to concede. They have also been hit by the loss of Ryan Harley and havent had the cash to replace him. In my view, we can take them, especially at Adams Park. Im really optimistic that we the result vs Chesterfield can give our players the confidence that they are good enough to be in this league. This festive period is crucial - if we can win 2 of the 3 games vs Stevenage, Exeter and Carlisle ill be well chuffed. CMON YOU BLUES!!!
Glad Nardiello is potent at that level Devon, I do believe he was turning out for Hearts up here in Jockland a while ago, and he was a load of toilet then.
