I think to pay that much for a player we’d need at least a year of staying up Have they heard of loan to buy?
followed by David ornstein and Pete O’Rourke but it could be bs Hope it isn’t cause I don’t think they can replace him with someone as good
I know raspadori would be a statement signing and really exciting, make Europeans sit up and notice what we are doing… and he potentially would fit into our system in the “the rigg role” perfectly… but… he’s 5”8 and le fee is 5”7. Can we really play them both in centre mid? Their football brains are brilliant but we’ve lost Jobe and need more physicality for the prem anyway. I don’t think you could play raspadori in the lone striker role, might be wrong. He would be wasted the wing. Feels a strange because he undoubtedly improves us but defending corners would become a real problem. Almost like mowbray’s first season when we sometimes had michut, Amad, roberts, gooch etc all playing at once
L’equipe said in their article about the new sporting director that we had significant funds to invest. I could see us spending 45 mil on one player, if we can pick one player for 5 mil that we think can play a part in the squad, alongside x3 20 mil players. That would get us to approx 110 mil. i think all of the promoted sides from last year spent about that and still went down. We also raised over 40 mil in player sales.
I don’t think Raspadori has ever played in the centre of midfield before has he unless I’ve missed something he’s generally a striker or second striker
raspadori hasn’t made sense to me since he was linked. He’s more of a playmaker but we have Enzo for that
Indykaila is as one of the very first online bullshit merchants. Absolute fantasist iirc. Hope he’s bang on here
Calciomercato | #Roma , on #Angeliño there are also other teams in Saudi Arabia. #AtleticoMadrid could also arrive
Hadn't realised that Roma hadn't managed to agree a deal for Gourna-douath. Is he still available? I have no idea if he's any good but I do remember he was tipped to be the next wonderkid a year or two ago.
We won't be spending £45m on a player. The problem isn't the amount we have available for fees. It's the amount of wages you have to pay a player who costs that much compared to the wages everyone else in the squad is on.
I'm quite intrigued to see RLB's new tactic to overload the left side of the pitch with 7 players. Will leave us exposed but we'll get a few overloads.
It's worth bearing in mind for those talking about a £200m spend that once you get right up against the psr limits, you're always having to find players to offload to offset purchases. Clubs close to the limit are having to sell home grown talent to allow them to spend more.
Swiss Ramble have just released an article on each clubs PSR status. Behind a pay wall though. I'm sure someone cleverer than me can put it on here via over the wall or something.
