Depends. You have all indicated that you thought Anderson was sold too cheaply so clubs do entertain low bids if they need the money for account balancing. Could be their Manager has someone he really wants, but they don't have the money for, and so they need to offload?

While you probably won't get him right at the beginning of the window, setting a low price now and then going back later with a small increase might get them on the cheap, closer to the deadline.

Or maybe I have just lived too long in a country where you never pay the first price you are quoted and try and bargain everything down. It's why shopping in Marks and Spencer always takes me so long.

Stupid is paying too much surley? Newcastle have to operate within psr, so surley trying to get good deals is actually wise?

Lyon relegated. Some very good players there.

Pecking order will leave it difficult for Newcastle to take advantage. Legacy clubs have so many advantages naturally and thats before psr and wages are taken in to account.

There's too many people still scratching their heads on all this imo. Theres a major pecking order and Newcastle have to see what the legacy clubs don't fancy.... Yeah they could hoover up some crap the legacy club's aren't even looking at, but they're trying to be ambitious, so patience is required.

Talk about a new contract for Isak in the Times today - most important signing of the summer in my opinion!

That would be nice for sure.....it'll shut down the noise. The media has been desperately trying to sell him.

Forest not keen on selling Elanga apparently, but he's on £48k per week there, offer double that and he'll come.

Only thing I'd be worried about would be the wage structure. If he goes to £200k p/w plus, then players like Tonali, Bruno, possibly Joelinton, Botman, Gordon, Livarmento and Hall could all want wages to boost as well, and that's before any new signings...

But having said that if we can cut the following: Odysseas, Ruddy, Gillespie, Hayden, Lewis, Lacselles, Wilson, Krafth, Targett - who managed about 40 apps between them last season, that'd save us around £370k p/w (or just shy of £20m a season) so we could probably do some decent contract upgrades for the squad.
