Aye Swiss league to prem looks a hell of a leap to me. And he was part of a relegated side in a very average league. Bigger than champ to prem. Hoping it is just another of those lazy agent / journo links. If we were in champ, maybe I could see it, but not now.

This is where we have to rely on the scouting. He might be someone whose overall game lifts when he's playing with better players around him,and someone who RLB thinks he can significantly improve... being one of the reasons KLD appointed him?

 

It’s a step up. But honestly his attributes make him a monster and in the squad at that price is superb business

 

Chomping at the bit to see who out of all of these lot actually sign. Still wouldn't be shocked if its someone who hasn't been mentioned at all!

Almost certainly will be yeah, although we haven't been linked to a right winger yet so that's guaranteed

He's 24 and that season getting relegated in Switzerland is the peak of his career to date. He's spent the early part of his career in the Italian and French lower leagues.

I know there's no such thing as a guarantee but if we're expecting players like this to play a lot of minutes for us, then we're taking a huge gamble on him being able to step up.

 

I want to see some bigger links come in now. Someone who we can look at say “yeah he’s going straight into the XI”. We need 4/5 of them. Feels like most of the links so far have been squad player type players

 

In fairness that's not necessarily a bad thing, but as long as sufficient scouting has been done and the right people view the player to be capable then it's sound.

I'm not sure I believe this one mind, but I like the idea that we are trying to find value in some minor leagues.

 

Yeah we did get a lot of those early on due to promotion hype, most of which there was probably nothing to - Got us a bit too optimistic about players like Singo imo.

 

Baradji might be my favourite link so far to be honest, just wish the link was coming from somewhere more reliable.

Elite physical profile which is what we are desperate for now. These are the clever types of deals that smart clubs do. He's an infinitely better signing than someone like Skipp for £20m or Downes for £15m.

 

Definitely agree with this, although it would just surely be as a squad player if true. Maybe those are the most exciting when it shows that we are looking for value but doesn't get me really excited personally.

Aye, it isnt one for me. Having said that I trust the scouts and recruitment team. He could be a gem, but I have reservations that at the age he has suddenly blossomed whilst getting relegated from a poor league. I get the argument about having physical attributes, but lots of players have those, it is how you use them against Elite footballers that count.
