India bowled out for 364, 370 ahead. They lost their last 6 wickets for 31!
As long as Eng survive today they've got a good chance. Could be a fantastic last day

    Wonder how they'll play it.
Obviously need to get a shift on, so either measured one day mode or full Bazball.
Over 50 with no losses by close of day is a platform.
    Hopefully the weather won't intervene.

No losses is good enough for me, especially Crawley as he can be a feast or famine batter, he owes us an innings now.

just looked and was surprised to see the innings wrapped up that quickly. the indian first innings was similar - they lost 7 for 41 in that one.perhaps that bodes well for the rest of the series.

england can easily score 350 more in a day, as long as they hang onto their wickets.

this is the first time india have scored five centuries in a test.

    let's see...
india scored 835 runs in all.
the five centuries accounted for 637 of those runs.
    everything else came to 198.
49 of those, about a quarter, were extras.
that leaves 149 for the other17 innings
    149/17 is about 8 and three-quarters.
just need to stop the hundreds then.

One thing is for certain, this won't be a draw, England will go for it and either get it or get out trying, there is no fence sitting for this team

It looks like it could rain on and off until about 2pm, so that could slow things down towards a draw.
i did think when I was watching today that as long as England took the odd wicket towards the evening session, the game could open up and that’s exactly what it’s done.
I would put England as favourites now. If we had lost a wicket in the evening session, maybe it would have been too much, but going into a run chase needing 349 in 90 overs (plus another hour, I think) that’s easily doable the way England go about things.
An odd stat that it’s the only test ground where the average score per wicket increases towards the last innings, so England have a really good chance.
Just a shame I’m working next to a cricket fan so not going to be able to hide from the score until the highlights on tv. I may have to use masking tape on a work colleague, which doesn’t go down well with HR…
