Have you somewhere you go to for a beer pre show, I'm meeting a Leeds fan i know who lives down here later for a beer, when they're in the arena not sure when, waiting for him to get back to me with a time and plac. I'd imagine any place anywhere near the arena gets rammed
There are loads of decent options along there. On Westgate Street right outside are Tiny Rebel and Brewdog, the City Arms is just off there, and there's a Spoons. There's also Zero Degrees, but I personally don't think their beer is any good. They are all pretty much right outside. I'm off to Ask for food with my daughter first, and then we're Gate 7 which on the river side of the stadium. She'll probably want to go in after food, might manage to delay the entrance with a mocktail for her somewhere!
My young un wants to go to the castle first then shes all Zizzi, I'll see how we're going and let you know
Have only really been for a pre or post match for cricket at Sophia Gardens and it's been generally ok. Agree there are better places though. Tiny Rebel for a start. Would have gone to Head of Steam but they don't seem to do mocktails, which my little un fancies in the sun before we go into the stadium. Will stay up Mill Lane end of town.
In a coffee shop just off Mill Lane now, the Cardiff castle thing didnt happen,we just came down to get our bearings for later. Having a 15 yr old autistic makes you have to pre plan and change things at the drop of a hat
There's lots of 18-25 yr olds with short skirts and brown boots walking around. About an hour wait at the merch stores already.
Bit of a chill morning, had to go paint a few walls now back home having a joint before I head to kenny high street to price a job for a property manager, gonna give him a decent day rate price in the hope of more work. Wish me luck guise
Gonna be in the Old Arcade around 5.45- 6.00, not sure it looks the kind of place to do cock or mocktails. The ladies will be at the arena by then
We were in the stadium by then, via the Glassworks. We then spent a fortune on drinks, and an hour in the merch queue. Which was the shortest one we could find, the queues for t shirts and sweats were mental. She came on late, which made her set a bit short tbh. We had to scarper as soon as her last song started to get in (yet another) queue, this time for the train back. Did walk straight onto an empty GWR train though, rather than a decrepit TforW offering, and was home by midnight. She was good, but really she could/should have started on time, that would have allowed another 20 minutes of actual tunes. Next up, Alanis Morissette next Wednesday.
What was the gig last night? wouldn’t mind seeing Alanis, but checking out Ticketmaster doesn’t give anything up north other than Glasgow sadly.
We walked past the venue around lunch time and there was queues of about an hour then. They went in the stadium and queued for about 45 minutes. I did a pub crawl, about 5 of them, all empty, did go into Luv's recommendation but thought it was just an expensive Spoons. Went into the spoons near the venue, £3.98 for 2 pints of Adnams, previous pub was £12.50 ffs, We've got James on Saturday night, one of their Forest gigs
