I don’t have a view on the specific incident you quote, as i know nothing about it, on the wider question, all politicians are hypocrites to a point, they have to be in order to get on. Is he any worse than most, probably not.

I still don’t know the facts, so not able to form a view, and have enough going on in my world to waste my time researching it. You obviously think he is. To a degree we all are, does it change anything, no. All leaders have skeletons in their closet, you don’t rise to the top by being goody two shoes. Just because I’m centre left doesn’t mean I agree with everything the Labour Party, or its leaders do. I don’t, equally I’m sure others that those that vote for the Tory’s don’t agree with everything they do either. Im not a particular fan of Starmer, but at least he has worked outside of politics and been reasonably successful. He wouldn’t be my choice of leader. That said he took over as leader when they were in the mire and has lead them to a major victory, with a healthy majority, I wish a City manager would be equally successful.
