Well yeah but you have to prepare for the chance they don’t want to sign to your terms.

also it helps with the home grown rules of the CL

I wouldn’t be that bothered about letting Cirkin go, I like him a lot but we can’t be having a first choice left back who only plays 55% of games in the last 3 years.

Spurs are desperate to fill their quota for Europe.

    That's why they're after Cirkin and Walker-Peters.

They need to pay up if they're that desperate, plus Dennis will know he's going to fill the bench and that's it.

If they’re desperate I’d be telling them 8 m after they take the sell on off it and a sell on

I’m sure they’d sign Trafford with Pope still on the books. They’ll need 2 good GKs for all the competitions they’ll want to go deep in, unfortunately

Would be disappointed to lose Cirkin at this stage

That would be Cirkin, Mepham and Jobe gone from our best side. Would leave so much work to do…

Didn’t Cirkin come here because he wanted away from London?

Can’t see it happening and wouldn’t want to lose him either.

I can 100% see it happening but hope he signs a new deal instead.

I rate him but if we can replace him with someone who can maintain a higher rate of form and fitness I’d happily lose him. We’re all talking about having two left backs because he can’t stay fit. Shouldn’t be like that. We would need him to be cover and he might not be able to cover because of his fitness.

Losing Cirkin would create an unnecessary problem. We already need to bring in a left back anyway but needing to bring in 2 on top of what we need across the squad would be difficult. Similar situation with Neil in midfield really.

We've already lost 18.5% of the total minutes played last season with Jobe, Watson and the loanees leaving.

We've got a lot of work to do, hopefully replacing Neil and Cirkin isn't needed.

Tbf we're talking about 2 left backs because every team should have 2 left backs even if the first choice is never injured.

Absolutely. In an ideal world he signs a new deal. I'd only be selling him if expresses that he wants to leave and won't sign a new deal.

Yeah I can’t see either of them still being here in September without signing a new deal. It's either a new deal or sold and I agree with it, just hope it doesn't come to that.

I meant because they have a sell on you’d remove that value from the deal say it’s 20% that means in theory it’s 10m

I'd be surprised if Spurs thought Denis would be quite good enough for the levels they're looking for. He's injury prone and, even when fit, hasn't often produced the form we know he's capable of. Maybe losing Clarke's work-rate pressured him a bit. He got away with it at Wembley, that dithering around in the second half, saved only by Patto's foot, could have been really costly. Not the decisive play he should have produced. I would have thought he needs to agree a contract extension, sort his fitness, have a good pre-season and go into August as our first choice left back.
