I would too. Why you tuned in to BBC WM (Wolves Media) I don't know anyways, you either get ******ed old Walsall fans or Wolves ****s.
Well, we weren't that good today, probably just shaded it, but can't complain at a draw. I thought Russell played well, a great clearance fo the line. Morrison had his POTM backlash and his worst game for ages...
I thought Russell played well too. Better than Hollands imo. Kermy definitely MOTM for us, but overall a mediocre display. Draw was a reasonable result, even if I'll never know how Hollands missed his chance. The officials were awful. Possible exception for the fourth official, who held up the sign with aplomb, but the rest of them were abysmal. I'm normally fairly calm about refs, but that's the most wound up I've been about them since 1997. And they missed lots of stuff for Warsaw too. Stupidest chant of the day goes to the home fans for a change. It was the first time I heard them... 'you only sing when you're winning'... right after they went 1-0 up. All in all, a frustating day in Poland.
It was 'we only sing when we're winning' mate. ...because it's true, most of our home fans sit on their arse and only pipe up when we score.
Walsall aces I've not a clue what station is the best for the footy up here. I work in Walsall aswell but I was on call yesterday And missed the game
Funny, Google maps has Walsall 8.8 miles from Birmingham, and Charlton 9.8 miles from Oxford Street - we know Brum is small, but didnt know their mentality was too (well, actually, we did).
To the tune of Stay by East 17 Hamer (Hamer) Won't you save another goal Don't think I can take the pain Won't you save another goal Hamer (Hamer) For a while in the first half, there was a group singing it every time he touched the ball. Gave me a good laugh.
SKy Sports just slightly better than the BBC - at least it shows us hitting the post in last minute http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,,16478_7371868,00.html
Noticed the stats have the attendance down as being in the 4000s. Couldn't make it on Saturday, so did CAFC fans make up for about half of the overall attendance?
home attendance was brutal, as it always is at the Bescot. Been there all three seasons, and every time it surprises me how poor the crowd is, especially considering the size of the town. i think the stat said Charlton fans were about 25%
Walsall clearly struggle with having so many larger clubs within the West Midlands area, all within easy reach. Villa don't sell out either, so it's not as if you might get overspill from there.
Went to Walsall last season and don't remember their attendance being too appauling. Far from great but I'm sure there was a decent scattering of fans in all four stands. On the replays it seems the whole of one of the side stands was empty? Good point Killer about the number of teams in the West Midlands (and the rest of the Midlands as well I guess). Walsall seem to me to be very much a 'local club' surrounded by far larger clubs, and thus they haven't got the 'cosiness' that perhaps Yeovil/Wycombe/Bristol Rovers have.
If Walsall was a small town, it would make a lot of sense, but it's more than double the size of places like Rochdale, Wycombe, Bury, Chesterfield, Watford. It's also a bigger town than West Bromwich. It is what it is. I'm sure their fans would like better attendances. I'm pretty sure that stand was mostly empty last year and the year before too.
