Gareth Bale............. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6440400/2025/06/20/gareth-bale-cardiff-city-takeover/
well it looks like Bales has changed his mind and is getting together a consortium to buy City, hope its true but am not holding my breath again.
Seems like old news. The bid was made a month ago. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cd78nyzrjd0o
Last Sunday I said to a couple of mates, what we need is Bale, Rambo led consortium to buy VT out.... As you say though, old news and rejected already... Probably why the Plymouth rumours have come about. Fail with your first target, move onto the next. Can just imagine an 11's bar under the Ninian stand and a Par 59 in the hospitality area.....
Whatever the figures surely Tan must be financially savvy enough to think ok I’ve invested into this for long enough and it’s now time to bow out. The counterpoint to that is he thinks the club is on the cusp of a return to the PL so I’ll keep my equity. Us fans have no idea what is going on in the boardroom though. So we have to speculate. Tan may want to retain some equity in the event of an upturn in growth but that’s fine as long as he relinquishes control BUT will he? My concern is as undoubtedly the clubs value has diminished in the past few years will he he consider a sale now when the clubs stock is so low? Whilst Tan has control the club is a hostage of fortune.
I don't think Tan will ever sell, until the Sala legal matters have been concluded. I believe September is the French court hearing, I wouldn't be surprised to see an out of court settlement.
You could well be right BT. The case probably represents one of the best opportunities for him to recoup some of the millions he's ploughed in... Waiting for promotion back to the premier league is fraught with uncertainty....
Id say there's absolutely no chance of any settlement or Nantes paying us anything ever. If he wins the case( unlikely) I doubt that's the end of it.

I wonder what Tan is thinking? Can't imagine him liking being asked to sell. He seems to like things on his terms. Does he think he can get promoted and demand a bigger price? I know he's sunk a chunk of change into the club, but how much it actually is could well be less than imagined. There will be financial smudging that will benefit Tan and reduce the hit. The next question is how serious are Bale's backers. How far would they go? Who are the backers? Could we find ourselves bemoaning Yankee ownership?
All I really hope is this isn’t prolonged and fuelled by social media gossip etc Surely neither party wants to drag this out: it’s either going happen or it’s not; granted there are going to be sticking points & issues to resolve but with a sensible commercial attitude by both sides there’s a deal to be done.
