If Brooks is going down a level to West Brom, I wish we were at least in the race for him. Quality player.

 

Wasn’t overly impressed by him when we had him on loan personally. As you say if he is dropping to West Brom then clearly he isn’t the player he was deemed as a few seasons ago.

 

I know, but he’s never been good in a saints shirt under several different coaching regimes. We’re paying him a salary this whole time which could be better spent. How long do you give it before saying he’s not going to reach the expected standard? He’s been given many more chances than youth outfield players.

 

I may have missed something but I don't quite get the cynicism with THB. I think he'll be an asset paired with Edwards next season and until he leaves he's a Saint in my eyes.

Exactly, players have to act(publicly at least) that they’re staying with their current club.
THB & Downes imo haven’t shown enough for a team to spend more than we paid for them last summer.
Could be wrong, but any premier league clubs interested probably have a good chance of being back in the championship 26/27.

As a club it’s on us to sell the vision of promotion this season to players like (Edwards/THB/Downes/Charles/Fernandes/Dibling) and of squad investment the following season to give us a side capable of survival.
